A lovely cosy and warm cottage right in the centre of Ambleside. Thank you. The bed would benefit from a new duvet that fitted the cover and wasnt lumpy and stained!

A lovely tiny cottage right in the centre of Ambleside. It is tucked away from the noise of the town, and the outside seating area was lovely. The downstairs living, kitchen, and dining area was well equipped and comfortable. Upstairs, the bedroom was lovely and comfortable, and the shower room was perfectly fine. There is very little to fault here. However, I would have liked a smaller frying pan, just to do a few mushrooms. The wall lights in the living area didnt work properly and gave out very little light. There is a warning about the stairs and the tight access in the bedroom. If you regularly get up during the night for the loo, I advise you sleep near the window. My partner slept on the other side and had difficulty getting around the end of the bed without nearly tripping over the duvet and falling down the stairs during the night. With regard to unloading and parking, be aware that it is a very narrow road with no space to stop and unload without causing a blockage. Roadside spaces are sparse and also require vouchers. The parking voucher has to be collected from the cottage first otherwise, you have to pay for parking unnecessarily. The voucher is valid in the Rydal Road and Lake Road car parks, not the large one at Miller Bridge. On the whole, I really liked this cottage and would consider it again if we return to Ambleside.

This is our second stay at Cobblestone Cottage. It's a really handy place to stay in Ambleside and perfect for us as a couple. We really appreciated the Christmas decorations this time too! The only downsides were cleanliness we had to hoover as it was really dusty behind the bed and we have dust allergies and we would have liked a bigger duvet. Apart from those niggles we had a lovely stay and will be coming back next year!

We really loved this very cute and cosy little cottage in the middle of Ambleside and we will definitely be staying again! It's not very easy to find as it's off the street, thankfully a local taxi driver knew where it was. The only downside we found was that the drying function on the washing machine in the outside didn't seem to be working properly, but that was a minor quibble as overall the cottage was perfect for our anniversary.

Sofa not comfortable, no oven, bathroom basin partially blocked, top of stairs needs a safety gate or something similar, plus side very comfy bed, good location and nice and quiet. Tricky to find.

Central location in town. Outside space is not realistic as a selling point. Described as 'romantic' but upstairs is 'pokey' Sofa needs changing. Cooking facilities are only really microwave heating hob and oven functions are slow.

The fact that we had to park in a car park away from the cottage would mean I wouldn't go back. The light going up the alleyway did not come on ,it was pitch black and I tripped up the stairs going up to cottage.It wasn't very private as a workshop is right next door.The cottage was clean and very nice and well located.

In need of a good clean. Property needed some basic redecorating and a good cleaner. Was dusty and had a musty smell. Windows filthy and someone had left their underwear in cupboard. The patio could have done with weeding too. Otherwise it was lovely functional cottage and nice and quiet. Great location in Ambleside. Comfortable bed, good storage and well equipped kitchen

A tidy, compact cottage right in the heart of Ambleside. Handy for shops, pubs, restaurants and the buses. Well equipped and clean.

A great location in the center of Ambleside, with everything you need for a relaxed visit. In fact I have already booked it again for Late June !!

If you want a good full nights sleep this property isnt for you boiler is situated opposite the bed and sounds like Norbot from Wallace and Gromit recharging. There also couldve been a little welcome pack with some tea, coffee and milk when youve had a long journey the last thing you want to do is have to go back out and buy milk. Just a suggestion. Overall good location and suitable for a short stay. Wouldnt necessarily say its worth the money.

Cobblestone Cottage in Ambleside is quaint and cosy. Well maintained, equipped and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable with good pillows. Only two slight niggles. 1 the sofa, not very comfortable. 2 the duvet seemed to be a very small double and only just fit the bed. Location is perfect to spend a few days and not have to use your car. parking permit included. Restaurants, cafes and Traditional pubs abound. There's even a cinema. We spent 5 days there, walked to Stock Ghyll Force and had an amazing cream tea at The Force visitor centre with amazing views over Windermere. Caught the steamer to Bowness and visited The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction. And spent a day in Ambleside shopping in the various outdoor wear shops, unique gift shops and saw The Bridge House. I would definitely recommend Cobblestone Cottage as a base and wouldn't hesitate to book again should we ever return.

Could do with a new sofa no very comfortable apart from that we enjoyed the stay

A nice little property in a central position ideal for the town facilities. Unfortunately a downturn in the weather required us to use the central heating but this proved impossible and needed furtherbetter instructions.

It was quirky. ..quaint and comfortable..great location in town. I would recommend it to others but make the following house keeping suggestions. The kitchen knives are blunt and cheap..couldn't cut vegetables. The washing machine was full of old laundry and no detergents. The I fo books could do with updating also instructions on how to turn heater on...I couldn't work it out.
