We loved our stay at Sunset Cottage. It was lovely & cosy and we were glad of hot bath at the end of some very wet days in June. We didn't try shower as there was no grab rail so can't comment on that. As 2 noncar owners we valued being so central to shops & transport & as 2 near 80 year olds we liked the garden even if we only got out there a couple of due to weather. Our son found parking space great when taking & picking us up. The cottage is as described. We couldn't use ice box as it was iced up & had to unblock a very clogged vacumm cleaner before using it at end of holiday. Maybe this could be checked as being useable by cleaners. All in all we loved cottage & would love to return

Cottage was perfectly placed to go into Ambleside and walk and drive further afield. Parking was useful and folk round about were friendly and helpful. Will recommend to friends.

Cottage was in a great spot not far from shops, pubs etc. Great having parking. We thought the cottage was a bit tired and needed some TLC, especially the lounge and bathroom.

Very cosy cottage right in the heart of Ambleside. Comfortable with nice views out from the upper floors and somehow our large estate could park in our own space. Minor problem with the loo sorted within an hour of arrival. Excellent service. Recommend.

We had a lovely stay at this cottage. It had been well cleaned before our arrival and the location is perfect. The bed mattress was comfortable on the double bed. The little garden is adorable and lovely to sit out in with a book. There was everything you needed except a dishwasher! I did feel the sofas could do with replacing as they are very tired and worn. The white rug by the fireplace also was really grubby, worth replacing with a darker colour!!. It was good to have a store outside for the bikes which was very useful, although had to clear some cobwebs to get in!!! The utility and coatboot room was so useful. We have a big car and the parking was ample for our car. We would stay here again.

Both my partner and I have mobility issues and location of Sunset cottage was perfect . Shops and restaurants within 200 yds 23 minute walk which is our limit. Car park space by front door was exactly what we wanted too. Furniture was carpets and decor tired and worn and 26 tv was just about ok. Access to Netflix etc good. Had taken amazon firestick but wasn't needed. 3 rating about right . Enjoyed our stay in lovely weather and small garden got afternoon sun when we returned from trips out. Bed very squishy at edges but comfortable. Be a definite 4 star with new furniture..tv and decor..with that great location and car space.

Sunset Cottage is a cosy, clean and comfortably furnished property only a short stroll to the heart of Ambleside with its many restaurants, coffee places and shops. We were able to leave the car parked outside for much of the week and did favourite walks straight from the door. Being so close to the town we also made use of the local buses to visit Grasmere, Bowness and Hawkshead. The cottage is situated in a quiet location and being well equipped it has everything you need for a selfcatering holiday. The beds are comfortable with wonderful views of 3-Bedroom Cottage Sleeping 5 with Log Burner in Ambleside from the window in the loft bedroom. We had such a lovely week that we have already booked to return this summer when we hope to be able to enjoy the little private garden at the rear of the cottage.

It is a very short stroll into the heart of the village with all of the amenities Ambleside has to offer.The cottage is comfortably furnished and we found it to be warm and cosy in the sub zero weather we had. Though we didn't use it we could see that the pretty courtyard garden would be a nice place to sit out on warmer days. Other reviewers have commented on the small size of the kitchen, we found it to be exactly as advertised and well thought out. We had no problem cooking meals, though any more than 2 people in it at a time would definitely be impossible! There are many books, DVDs and games to keep you entertained if you don't fancy venturing out on an evening. We had a fantastic stay and would happily return to Sunset Cottage in the future

Lovely cottage to stay in, close to all amenities. Comfortable enough after a long day out walking but some of the furnishings are tired looking such as the cushions, sofa, shower curtain and kitchen utensils. But overall a perfect location for us.

A very cosy, traditional cottage in the centre of Ambleside. Parking for 1 car outside the front door. Extremely quiet location. Small rear garden is a bonus. Accommodation was clean and compact. The loft twin room has limited headroom not great for my 5'10 daughter and has no door but was warm and had comfy beds. The 1st floor double bedroom was spacious and the bed was extremely comfy. Lovely view of 3-Bedroom Cottage Sleeping 5 with Log Burner in Ambleside from the window. Lounge was cosy with a gas fire and 2x two seater leather sofas, a dining table and access to a very handy understairs laundry cupboard. Washing machine and tumble dryer were easy to use. The kitchen was small but had everything needed for cooking. The underfloor heating was in here only and was set at 16 but this was too low as the kitchen was always cold. A mild heat could be felt on the floor by the sink. Bathroom was airy, clean and warm as it housed the water tank and gas boiler. Shower was powerful and the bath was a much need bonus after a day on the fells. There is a separate lockable bike store if needed. Loads of books, games, jigsaws and dad's. The only negatives were the cold kitchen and that there were no curtains on the kitchen door or window and on the landing window this had a net curtain with clear glass!! I like privacy so stuck kitchen roll over the kitchen door widow and used tea towels on the landing window. We are already planning to return next summer. Overall we give the cottage 810

Really great location! A couple of minutes walk from the town centre and the cinema. It also has a car park space which is very convenient. However some things to note The toilet is a bit dodgy as it takes a while to flush. The shower curtains need replacing as they have mould at the bottom. Some of the pots and pans need replacing too as they are unusable. Otherwise a very cosy home with a convenient location!

Very comfortable. Great location with parking. Nice little garden. Handy to have washing machine and dryer.

We had a great stay, was helped by great weather. Think as the top floor does not have a door only suitable for family. Not two couples. The house is ideally situated for shops and restaurants. Also so many walks from the house. What could be improved, better sofas .

Sunset cottage was lovely and cosy, especially for a winter stay. The only thing we missed was advice about where to put our rubbish, but fortunately we were able to ask a neighbour about which bin to use.

The cottage was very warm & cosy, the only area that wasn't was the kitchen which had no heating but as we only had breakfast it was not really a problem. The kitchen could do with being decorated & some refurbing of the units plus the dining table needed replacing or repainted. All in all it was what we were looking for & in the right location to get to the bus station & other areas of Ambleside ,

Lovely warm comfortable cottage in good location with very convenient parking

This was a lovely cosy cottage well equipped with all facilities. The parking was perfect and the cottage well stocked with dvds and games. The views were stupendous and the beds very comfortable. The kitchen is small but has everything you need. There were a few little problems for example the under floor heating did not work and the parking permit was out of date, although we did not need it on this occasion. One thing I would mention was the grimy state of the kitchen utensils such as cutlery and egg whisk etc. we had to wash everything, however this did not detract from our holiday and we would love to stay again! Really handy property for walks, supermarkets and food outlets. Great for hot weather in cool stone building, private garden with mountain views. Minor maintenance was dealt with promptly. Private parking a bonus in a busy town centre. John

Pans not clean and need replacing. Keys difficult to get should be in security box at Cottage. Garden very overgrown and Cottage generally tired. Kitchen description of neat was misleading as it was extremely tiny couldnt possibly cook a meal. Definitely not suitable for four people.

Kitchen was even smaller than imagined. Not enough room for two people. Barely enough room to make a sandwich in fact. Upstairs room had no door, no good for staying with friends, and i hit my head on the ceiling every time i went up there. Location was good. Comfortable place to be. Not accurately represented in the advert in my opinion. For some people this will be an ideal base for a holiday. We found it a bit wanting.

The cottage was great and we liked it very much, so we decided to rebook, however the price had gone up 500 pounds, which i think is rather unfair. So we chose to go with a different supplier, who had far more reasonable prices.

Cozy cottage in a fantastic location, loved being so close to the centre and walking distance to the lake. Perfectly comfortable accommodation for a week away.

Shower had an intermittent fault. This needs to be serviced. Pillows were very poor quality. There was a musty smell in the cottage. We believe that this came from the carpets and curtains and possibly the cushions. We bought a material freshener and this helped a little.

Excellent position for centre of Ambleside. Good car parking. Sunny rear garden. Clean , warm and cosy living room. Small kitchen. Well equipped. Bathroom could do with updating but plenty of hot water. Good sized bedrooms with comfortable beds. No hairdryer.Ideal base to explore The Lakes.

Good outdoor space and parking. Will be rebooking.
