Candleberry Cottage is a spacious four-bedroom character property converted from a Grade II listed chapel in Ambleside's historic conservation area. Original arched church windows and exposed beams run throughout. The cottage sits in the heart of the Lake District at the northern tip of Lake Windermere.

Ambleside offers shops, restaurants, pubs, two cinemas and a jazz bar within easy walking distance. Lake cruises depart from nearby Waterhead. Stock Ghyll Force waterfall and numerous walking trails start from the doorstep.

The cottage sleeps seven across four bedrooms. The first floor has a king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room, plus twin and single rooms. A second king-size bedroom sits on the top floor with lovely views.

About Candleberry Cottage

The cottage sleeps seven across four bedrooms. The first floor has a king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room, plus twin and single rooms. A second king-size bedroom sits on the top floor with lovely views. There's a family bathroom with shower over bath. The modern dining kitchen features a large table, double electric oven, gas hob and dishwasher. The sitting room has a 50-inch smart TV and French windows opening to the shared garden.

Great location being so cloae to town and also having a parking space. Lots of walks from the door. Lovely huge social kitchen and table, comfy beds, and good showers. Appliances all well maintained. Needs a little refresh of some of the homewares PotsPans, no Eggflip spatula!!, airer and a good sort through the mounds of tourist leafleta most of which were many years out of date. No working extraction in bathrroms but nice sound effects. Pickiness aside, a nice cottage we would stay at again.

We have been coming to Ambleside with the children for 8 years, the parking spots at St Anne's church are worth their weight in gold! Candleberry was a very cosy and comfortable cottage, plenty of room and comfy beds. We would not hesitate to return!

Very good position in Ambleside away from the busy main streets. The accomodation was up to expectations and served our group very well. One niggle was there was only two loo rolls for 7 people for a week. Also would be nice to have some basic essentials ie salt and pepper!

A warm and comfortable cottage in a great location. A charming and interesting building with very good facilities and very well equipped for large groups. Tastefully Dec and appointed. Good beds, towels and bedding.
The property was fab. Downstairs toilet would be handy but not possible I think. Apart from that it was really good, uphill but then again everything in the lakes is either up or down hill. Ideal location for shopspubs etc
