Absolutely super accommodation. Great location. Very comfortable. Very well equipped. Nice to have outdoor space to relax in right in the center of Ambleside, and with car parking.

Beautiful cottage and an excellent location. Garden and hot tub were lovely. Because it is an old property the bedrooms are a little slanted and so are the beds in 2 of the rooms in particular. This meant we unfortunately didnt get the best sleep each night but other people may not be affected by this. The one minor thing is that the property has no basics no hand soap upstairs, no washing up liquid etc. You get a starter pack from SykesLakelovers but thats it. It doesnt advertise that it has one but generally nowadays you find those things. Also there is no clothes airer to dry clothes indoors somethings cant be tumble dried and when raining there was nowhere to dry clothes indoors. As I said, not big issues just a consideration.
We have just returned from a lovely week with our 3 teenage children. The house was very well equipped & the beds very comfy. We loved being able to walk around Ambleside without using the car & had a dip in the hot tub every day. Having a car park space was a huge bonus although it takes some precision reversing as the space is very tight. We got the hang of it after a few days. We did lots of walks, pottery painting, steam train ride & paddle boarding to nearby lakes. All in all, it was a great house in a great location.
Beautiful well equipped quirky and surprising quite roomy cottage the photos do not do it justice with the added bonus of a parking space and a hot tub would love to see it in high summer. The location is wonderful you have the best of both worlds a cottage and the amenities of a town with excellent bus service if you want to leave the car behind. We loved the cottage but if you are not very mobile its probably not for you having said that our ages ranged from 19 to 74. Would recommend this little gem and would happily return.
Great property and facilities. Good location for Ambleside facilities. Only criticism High chair, cot, and stair gate were requested, however there was only a high chair available which made things a little difficult for us.

The cottage was lovely,was equipped with everything we needed and in a great location, in the town centre so excellent for enjoying the bars restaurants , shops etc! However on our departure date I seem to have left a bag with some clothing in it and even after contacting the Sykes office 3 times , and getting told that they would look into it and get back to me I didnt get any answers from them!
Overall we very much enjoyed our week in this spacious and comfortable characterful cottage. Main reason for booking was the location and this proved very convenient with its own parking too. One negative related to this is the regular coming and going of cars parking outside particularly later at night plus Church Street is a well used road at all times. Hot tub was nice after long walks although as has already been highlighted shame it wasnt ready for our first night. The showers are both a little compromised with the one over the bath having limited head height and the walk in shower an odd set up not being enclosed so water routinely soaks the floor! The low doorways caught each of us out on numerous occasions but unavoidable in a 500 year old cottage! The inclusion of a parking disc would be helpful for families or couples to stay with more than one car. It was a surprise not to have a welcome basket on our arrival not even a pint of milk! None of these issues detract from the appeal of the cottage and location and would certainly recommend to others.
A beautiful, cosy home from home. Perfectly situated in the centre of Ambleside. The house had everything we could need and the hot tub was a real bonus at the end of a long day walking.
Booked the cottage for February. Cottage was in a perfect location for Ambleside and has been beautifully renovated by the owners to a very high standard..definitely recommended.

This is a really charming cottage, lots of space and beautiful features. The location in the middle of Ambleside is central to all the lovely shops, pubs and restaurants. The hot tub and parking space are an additional bonus! Great stay, thank you.

Lovely property in a great location. Perfect for 56 people with ample sittingdining space. Everything you need in the kitchen and good garden space. The hot tub is an added bonus although it hadn't been heated prior to us arriving so had to do without it on our first daynight. Other holiday rentals had visitors parking permits which would be a welcome addition to the property. We would definitely return in the future.
A beautiful conversion of two very old cottages to make a superbly laid out property. The living dining area in particular is ideal for a party of six. Equipped with everything you could want and extremely comfortable. We will be hopefully be back. One word of warning take note of the Mind Your Head signs!
