We have stayed at Squirrel Bank before but it was several years ago. There is always a possibility that in the interim things may have changed for the worst, but this was not the case. It was just as cosy and comfortable as we remembered it being last time and in a perfect spot for people who want to be close to everything Ambleside has to offer without the noise.

Very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Nicely decorated with the plus side of the original paintings. The bed was extremely comfortable, great shower and the most fantastic view from the lovely shaped window.

Squirrel Bank is absolutely perfect. So close to town and so peaceful. Easy to find and park up on arrival we didnt use the car all week as so many walks are available locally. The apartment was warm and cosy on even the coldest night with everything you could need for a comfortable stay.
Absolutely perfect. We have stayed in the Falls development several times, as a couple and with our wider family and its the perfect place to quickly access the centre of Ambleside without having to drive. Yes its quite steep up the hill from town but beyond that its ideal. The property is really nicely finished recently had carpets refreshed I think and very comfortable indeed. The bathroom is big and the bath has a shower over it for those that prefer a shower to a bath. Powerful and easy to set to the optimum temperature. The whole property was spotlessly clean including things like the fridge and cooker which we have occasionally had to clean in other properties. Well equipped and just a lovely and homely place to stay. Welcome pack with dishwasher tablets and scourer etc... plus tea, coffee, sugar & milk gets you started in that regard. We will certainly be back at some point.
What a lovely, cosy apartment in a fantastic location. We're already counting down to our next stay we chose to book again prior to leaving. We did have one small issue in that the internal door lock did work loose and we were temporarily unable to get out. Luckily we have a leatherman bit kit and were able to tighten the turnbuckle much to the relief of our 4 legged friend
A really lovely apartment with everything you need. Furnishings are of very good quality and carpet was brand new. Would definitely stay again.

This was our second visit to Squirrel Bank, although with a very long break in between and it did not disappoint. The refurbishment has been done very tastefully and to a high standard. Everything we neded for a lovely break was provided.

The property was beautifully restored, spotlessly clean and comfortable, no complaints at all. The king sized bed was a dream, everything had been provided, even plenty of hangers in the wardrobe. Bliss. The only snag was a letdown by Sykes. We had a problem with the boiler, no hot water, the boiler read F75. We tried to contact Sykes but no joy, couldnt speak to anyone just kept getting there is a problem. Even the chat line had a problem. I later had a text to say someone from their emergency department would be ringing in 20 minutes. They didnt. Anyway, we resorted to Google about the boiler problem and managed to fix it ourselves quite easily. This didnt detract from our enjoyment of the property, we are just disappointed with Sykes.

Situated in a quiet part of Ambleside and perfect for accessing all of The Lakes. A short walk into town with plenty of pubs and restaurants. The property is beautifully decorated and furnished. The loungediner, bedroom and bathroom are very large and the kitchen well equipped. The 'welcome' packs were a nice touch. We slept really well as it was so peaceful and the bed super comfortable, also being able to hear the waterfall was lovely. The shower is fantasticly powerful!

Hello, and thank you for Squirrel Bank. It is a lovely place to stay and we hope we can stay there again. The only thing we would make a big plea for is to have the means for recycling waste both within and outside the property. We fashioned our own means for separating out recyclables within the property and then had to bring it all home with us as there were no blue recycling bagsboxes to be found in order to use the local collection, although instructions were included for this in the property information pack.

We loved our stay at Squirrel Bank and we would book again. Its in a quiet location and just a short walk from Ambleside centre. The apartment was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed for our stay, we particularly liked the Denby dinner plates and bowls. The apartment had lovely new carpets and was tastefully decorated. It was also great having our own parking space.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Squirrel Bank. The property is located in a beautiful setting with spectacular views. There was a lovely warm welcoming feeling on entering and the property was cleaned and furnished to a very high standard. The complimentary welcome packs were a lovely touch. It felt like home, especially as I used to live in Ambleside in my younger years It was my partners 60th birthday and it was amazing to have a beautiful environment relax in on the evenings after our daily outdoor adventures. We were so sad to leave but have plans to book again and stay at Squirrel bank in the near future. The only constructive point I would make is to have the door number on the wall at the entrance of the steps as its not clear of where 28 The Falls is for taxi and delivery drivers. We absolutely loved your beautiful property.
We loved Squirrel Bank, the place is spacious but feels very cosy and the bed was super comfortable. Being so close to the waterfall was lovely as we could hear it all the time which was very relaxing. The customer service was also very good as we accidentally left a pair of trainers in a cupboard at Squirrel Bank and, after calling the offices, they managed to retrieve the trainers and advised where they could be collected from as we still had family staying in Ambleside who were available to collect them so very impressed at that. The only negativessuggested improvements we experienced were that there is no hand soap in the bathroom. I read in a previous review that this was due to hygiene reasons? which seems odd in relation to a hygiene product

Lovely flat well furnished nice and quiet can hear the waterfall, fantastic view from windows parking a bonus but very tight for 2 cars. However if you have a dog not much green space near the flat to exercise as field next to the falls access is to steep and slippy so had to go to borrans park or rothay park.

The overall equipment was good but basics which would even have been provided in a decent hotel were lacking. I am talking about soap, toilet rolls, tissues, kitchen roll, everyday essentials not luxuries. We also experienced a power cut from 7.00 pm until early afternoon the following day. Obviously nobodys fault and Lakelovers dealt with it efficiently for us unlike Sykes head office when my husband complained about lack of essentials!
As regular visitors to the lakes, Squirrel Bank is our favourite place to stay. A lovely comfortable apartment in a great location.
The apartment looks lovely and welcoming, and was immaculate when we arrived. The views from the living room and bedroom were amazing. You can hear the waterfall at night if you open the window, it was so relaxing! The kitchen has everything you need, bathroom is awesome. I don't think we could have asked for a better place to stay, it was the cherry on top for our amazing holiday!

We loved this property although parking was somewhat tight, and inexplicably the doorcatch sensor on the washing machine was missing when we arrived so we couldn't clear a prior week's backlog of washing until an engineer had been. Fortunately we were able to reasonout what the missing component was if not why, and it was 'invisibly' mended in our absence on our first day out. The other niggle would probably be the TV which took some getting used to compared to everything else onhand which was pretty well plug&play one doesn't go on holiday for hassles. Parking was an issue more widely what with the huge numbers of other likeminded holidaymakers in the area but the scenery and weather more than made up for that! In all other intrinsic respects Squirrel Bank suited us very well.
Such a beautiful property in a perfect location in the Falls. The apartment was really well kept which made for a wonderful stay. Some kitchen facilities could be developed some broken glasses in the cupboards, no pint glasses etc, however this in no way detracted from a fantastic holiday. Thank you!
