We have stayed at various properties in Ambleside but have always been disappointed not this time. As soon as we entered the property we were impressed by the cleanliness and quality of the furnishings etc. The kitchen was so well equipped, even with lots of cleaning products that I didn't need to use any of mine most properties don't have any, so I always take some. Unfortunately it wasn't sunny enough to sit in the garden, but sitting in the living room, you can watch all the birds flying around the trees and bushes just outside. The property is in a peaceful location but only a few minutes walk down to the shops etc. There are walks to do from the property so you can have car free days out. We definitely recommend Greenways and next time we return to the lake district, we'll be booking this property. Thank you for providing such a comfortable, cosy holiday property.

Bungalow was home from home. Furnished with good quality furniture and soft furnishings. Very well equipped kitchen and spacious. Very clean and perfect location. Many walks can be done from the door. Garden front and back so if lucky to get the sun, like we did, you can catch it in the garden all day. Will definitely be booking again.

We had a lovely stay at Greenways, was a delight to come back to after a long day walking. Not having to drive all week was great, everything from your doorstep. We would recommend a walk or bus to Grassmere, buses every 15 mins absolutely beautiful, the lake has lots of private areas with benches, great for people who love openwater swimming. Rydal Lake and caves a good day out, Ambleside has a large lovely park Rothay, 15 min walk for our fur babies to have a run and great for families, play, picnics and ice cream

Greenway's Holiday cottage continues to be the perfect retreat, with all the comforts of a home and a truly peaceful atmosphere. The cleanliness of the cottage is exceptional, and we highly recommend!

Lovely cottage in a great location, clean and well maintained. It suited us perfectly. The hill on Gale Rigg is steep but not a problem for any of our party. The location is quiet, yet very close to Ambleside shops and attractions. There is something for everyone in Ambleside and so do hope to book again next year.

A very clean and well equipped property. Very convenient for Ambleside and good parking. Lovely garden, I had my eye on a lovely hosta and managed to buy one! One of the reasons we booked this property was it has a bath but the bathroom and bath are very small. You can't lie down properly in the bath, it's too short and shallow. The overhead shower is good but I am a bath person! We had amazing weather for the Lakes and the duvets were much too hot unfortunately. A very quiet neighbourhood. One observation, think this is the only property we have stayed in in the Lakes, and we've stayed in a few, that didn't have a welcome pack, ie biscuits, bottle of wine or the like.

We had a full week of constant sunshine and we made great use of the garden patio areas, which are real sun traps. Parking is excellent with plenty of room for two cars. We visited Greenways many years ago so it was nice to return, lots of happy memories! ! The property is immaculate, very clean , cosy and comfortable with lovely views of Wansfell and Todd Crag. With the added bonus of the lovely weather this week we managed many high level walks but it was so nice to return to Greenways later to relax and enjoy the warm sunshine on both the sheltered patios. It was so peaceful and quiet and lovely just to hear the birdsong. Just a few minutes in to the centre of the village it is ideally situated. We would love to return. Thank you.

We had a lovely week at Greenways. Only a five minute walk into Ambleside yet Greenways is so peaceful. We couldnt fault the cottage at all. It was very well equipped ,spotlessly clean and very comfortable.So much attention to detail. Unfortunately we lost our dog in June so he didnt get to enjoy it but I am sure he would have. Its one of the best weve stayed in. We cant wait to come back.

It has two outdoor seating areas, and both are real sun traps if youre lucky enough to get some sun. Easy parking on the drive in front of the cottage and a short stroll into town. The garden is lovely with 2 seating areas but the garden isn't fully secure for our little dog as she jumped over the wall into the next garden. Greenaway was a lovely place to stay. Everything was very clean and we loved the views from the kitchen and lounge . The garden was great for our dog and there are lots of good walks from the cottage so no need to use the car everyday. It was also very handy for the shops and cafe's just down the road. Would love to stay here again sometime.

Lovely cosy bungalow in a great location. A 5 minute down hill walk to the village. The house is very clean and comfortable. The kitchen has everything that you would need. We had taken my 97 year old mother with us who enjoyed her break. Due to the steep hill up to the bungalow we had to use the car to get her up and down to the village which was a bit of a pain. I would not recommnend this location to elderly or infirm due to the incline getting back up to cottage. For us it was great.

The cottage was immaculately clean, and very well equipped. We really appreciated the comprehensive information about the bins and heating system, something we've struggled with in other cottages. The bed was very comfortable with the mattress topper on, and the towels were really good quality. The location was also very good, quiet but very close to the town centre. We noticed that BBC1 did not come up on the tv so we had to access it via iPlayer possibly the channel needs retuning?
