We had an amazing stay at Prospect House last week! The nonstop rain only made for a cosier week ... lot's of card games and a few monopoly tantrums. The bedrooms and ensuites were great, cinema room was a huge hit and we loved the window bench in the dining area, great touch. It oozed character and had a lovely warmth to it that was great for an autumnal stay, and a refreshing alternative to the common 'modern' design. Our only note is the light at the bottom of the steps is out which wasn't ideal in the darker nights and perhaps washing powder dishwasher tablets would be a great touch to make the facilities more accommodating even if limited amount as we appreciate these features cost We will certainly be paying another visit soon, great location and great accommodation

We have stayed in Prospect House a number of times. Its beautifully decorated, warm and cosy and great location for easily accessing Ambleside. The facilities are good and include a fantastic cinema room as well as washerdrier. We always appreciate the welcome basket provided.

This is the third time we have stayed at Prospect House. The accommodation is beautiful and really well equipped. Perfect for a multi generational family holiday. The location is great and provides easy access to Ambleside and bus routes to many locations.

This was our second visit to Prospect House and it looks as fresh as our first visit due to the care and maintenance taken. Furnishings are great and kitchen well equipped. We were fortunate to have some great weather and could take advantage of the fantastic views from the patio! The only tiny thing I would ask for is more hangers in the wardrobes please. We were a party of eight for a week with only 34 hangers in each room, but this in no way detracts from this outstanding house.

This is a superbly appointed house with everything a large family can possibly need. It is luxurious and beautifully decorated and is an absolute pleasure to stay in. It's location within Ambleside is perfect.

Over the last fourteen years my family and I have booked various properties through Lakelovers and I can say unreservedly Prospect House is the finest Cumbrian home yet. And, that's part of Prospect House's cachet, it feels like a home. Tastefully decorated and elegantly furnished, the owner has created an elevated and contemporary country home which would not look out of place on the pages of a home interiors style magazine. Every detail has been considered, from the Bridgewater themed kitchenware to the Sanderson bedding. Luxurious, stylish and comfortable we cannot wait to return again in 2026.

Our second time staying in this fantastic house. The location is superb 3 minutes walk into town and so many long walks direct from the house. Having offstreet parking is a huge bonus. My favourite holiday house ever. A wonderful week was had by all!

Perfect cottage in every way, only slight personal issue that we would have liked a television in the living room rather than the kitchen, we didn't always want to go downstairs to watch a television programme rather than a film otherwise can't fault in anyway.

This is our second visit to Prospect House. It was perfect for our three generations of family, with the grandchildren especially loving the tv room and the myriad of channels. Everything is so comfortable and spacious with enough room for us to spread out. The cleanliness was excellent. Its only a hundred yards from the town centre but is so quiet and peaceful. We will probably be back for a third visit.

The house was beautifully decorated, well located and very clean. Also relatively quiet. Our only issue was that the house was chilly, especially on cold mornings. The radiators were cold to the touch and the floors in the entry only became warm occasionally.

We were on a walking holiday with our adult children and significant others. We had such a fabulous experience both with the cottage and all it had to offer location, TV Room, outside patio area, perfect kitchen diner for unwinding at the end of the day with a glass of wine and home cooked food, so much so that we booked it again next year for a week. What a wonderful, considered renovation of the property. Loved every minute.

Fantastic week at prospect House! It was a wonderful home from home to celebrate a 70th Birthday along with 3 generations of family. Everything in the house was perfect and the highlights were the cinema room and espresso machine! Fantastic walks Catbells, Wray Castle, Wansfell Pike and an amazing sunrise at Todds Cragg Places to eat Apple pie cafe delish breakfasts and freshly baked goods, Luigis, Priest Hole Sunday lunch, Doi Intanon Thai, Tap Yard nice fooddrinks but awful service, many visits to the Golden Rule and lastly but by no means least, Taco Sol for the best burritos, tequila and frozen margs! Thanks so much to Jo for allowing us to stay in this stunning home. She was super helpful and responsive and we would deffo return. Sorry for the delay in my review but I thought Id already done it

This is the best high end holiday property we have ever encountered. It offers good value for money. The house itself is incredibly interesting with huge amount of features each tastefully thought about. This quality runs throughout inside and outside the house. No expense has been spared or no corner has been cut. The owner is available and eager to help with any minor issues encountered. Location is key with its village centre position. The 3 car parking facility at the front of the house is a massive advantage. I could go on and onIll finish by saying that there is ample daytime space for different groups within the house to be away from each other

Absolutely fabulous cottage and wonderful place to stay. Little hiccup on the boiler was sorted by Sykes and the owners within minutes of a call, demonstrating quick reaction and a real desire to get it right!

Prospect house is perfect! It is ideally situated within Ambleside and beautifully furnished and decorated throughout with excellent facilities. The kids loved the cinema room and the adults enjoyed sitting on the sunny terrace with a glass or two we were very lucky with the weather!! The location could not be better with easy access to the town and yet also quiet. Superb. We would book again today but the prices have gone crazy and we cannot afford it now. This was hands down the most fabulous property we have stayed at in The Lakesand possibly the UK. It was home from home and better. The dcor was extremely stylish and inviting, the facilities endless inc amazing parking for 4 cars off road and the kitchen was so well equipped we didn't need half of what we had taken. ..little ideas like torches a real asset and thoughtful. A most wonderful touch was that the property was delightfully decorated for Christmas including a beautiful lit tree...again we didn't need our own decorations we had taken. A real coup was that the owner sent a direct welcome email and offered any help she could at the drop of a hat when we had a couple of queries...most professional and friendly. We hired the loft and the studio tooso feedback applies to all 3! put simply, we cannot wait to return and have recommended this home to so many already!

We loved it . Its the nicest, most luxurious and best equipped holiday let weve ever stayed in. Every comfort was catered for and more. Only one comment and that would be 8 comfortable seats in the living room for playing games would be nice.

We've stayed at this house 3 times this year 2021 and have already booked 2 times for next year. Having been a regular visitor to the Lakes for many years now, I can happily state without any doubt the package that is Prospect House is just about perfect in every sense. Great Location, great accommodation, so beautifully and tastefully refurbished it's kitted out with everything and more, spotlessly clean when you arrive, and the best corkscrew you've ever seen! Attention to detail is really what stands out in this house...it's an 1110 from me!
