Little Robin Cottage Reviews

As usual, after three weeks we didn't want to leave. A perfect cottage in a perfect place. Friendly neighbours too which is a bonus.

Brilliant. I am planning my next visit to the Lakes now. Little Robin Cottage is very nice, get it booked
We had a lovely stay here. Would highly recommend. The cottage was done to a high standard. Very warm and cosy, especially during the cold weather we had whilst staying there. Great location for walking and also to the shops, bars and restaurants.
Suzanne
Enjoyed our stay. Cottage was perfectly positioned for lots of walks from the doorstep. We arrived to the front door left open as the internal handle had fallen off. A quick call to Sykes who were amazing and had someone round within 15 minutes to fix it. Everything we needed was in the cottage. It was lovely warm and cosy downstairs. Thank you for relaxing break.
Alison
Second time visiting Little Robin Cottage, lovely cozy property, with all the home comforts, lovely views from the window, able to watch the jets flying past! Very quiet and peaceful. Great to be able to do nice walks from the door and not move the car for a few days! Thank you!
We had the most perfect week in this gorgeous little cottage! It was the ideal size for the two of us and our little dog, and the three of us loved sitting in front of the fire on an evening. The cottage is so clean and well maintained with everything you could need. We'll absolutely be back!
Sharon
Little Robin Cottage is a beautiful character cottage mixed with modern touches. We stayed here for a short break, ideally situated for walks and a short walk into Ambelside. Will definitely be looking to stay here again most certainly felt home from home!
This is our 2nd stay at the cottage its absolutely perfect for us and our dog. The kitchen and shower are first class and the bed is so comfortable after a long day walking. We also cheat and grab a taxi home up the hill after a few drinks at the in the Village its only 5!. We will be booking again

We enjoyed our stay at Little Robin Cottage. Save for the broken EV charger and problems with the shower, the rest of the cottage was really well appointed. It was a good size for 2 of us and our mediumlarge dog. I would say youd struggle to fit more bodies in there than that. It was also really conveniently located for Ambleside village. Just be aware that the 1015 minute walk back is up typically Lake District hills I.e. steep!. You also need to practice your parallel parking if bringing your car, as the road is slightly narrow and parking is unallocated.
What an absolute fantastic little cottage all the views are amazing we found it that good i have booked for next year. Thank for you for such a lovely cottage I wish I could buy it love it
Lovely Cottage & Great Location we didn't need the car at all. We did have an issue with being locked out as well as a blocked sink in the bathroom. On contacting Sykes however their maintenance were very expedient in resolving. Great service.
What a beautiful hidden gem. Very cute quaint modern cottage comfortable well maintained with everything you need for a holiday break. Beautiful views of lake Windermere from living room and especially the bedroom. Parking caused no problems either. Lovely walks up to the fells from the front door and also down to the town. All in all had an amazing time will definitely recommend to friends and family.

In a perfect location for hiking and walking around Ambleside. Its a stunning little cottage
What a fantastic cottage, loved everything about the place, perfect
The cottage was lovely and we really enjoyed our stay. The climb to up to the cottage from the golden rule pub we did enjoy one or two drinks in there was a little steep, we are in our late 60s, but not too much of a bother. The hob and oven was a little complicated but we mastered it eventually. The wifi was not working for the entire week of our stay. The employee from sykes couldn't sort it, apparently it was a service provider fault. This made the smart tv into an ordinary tv, no catch up or smart service available. The wifi didn't distract us from a memorable stay. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you.
Jennie
A beautiful Ambleside retreat. We felt welcome and at home the moment we stepped through the fabulous red front door. The cottage was warm, cosy, meticulously clean and tastefully decorated. There are wonderful views from the lounge and bedroom windows over the town to Lake Windemere. The home manual included all the information we needed, including recommendations for local amenities and eateries which were spot on. We enjoyed fabulous walks from the door and the undercroft space under the ground floor is perfect for muddy boots, kit and clobber when returning from a day in the fells. We tend to avoid Ambleside in favour of quieter Lakeland spots, however this stay has utterly won us over and we would book again. Thank you for sharing your lovely home which provided a much appreciated break.
A lovely comfortable stay at Little Robin Cottage. Very cosy in chilly February. Stayed for a week. Lovely walk from the door in the Sweden Bridge direction. Uphill walk back from Ambleside centre but doable we are in our 60s. Everything well catered for in the cottage.
Stuart
We stayed for 5 days at this lovely cottage. It was nice and warm and cozy and had all the comforts from home you would want. The standard of appliances and tech was above what you would expect. Nice and clean, nothing not to like. Would recommend.
Lovely cottage but not ideal for over 75 to many banks and steps. My fault didn't check the location .I love Robins so that's why I picked the cottage .Beautiful views .We walked down into town but had to get taxi back .Cottage had everything you need would definitely recommend it for walkers and younger people.
Lovely cottage but at times too hot in a mild October. We found the oven a challenge but got there eventually! Loved the shower and boiling water tap, definitely want both of these! Fantastic location and perfect for us. Great week had by all and Bess the dog was exhausted!!
Alison
Fabulous cottage set in a beautiful setting with fabulous views from the windows Ambleside is a very pretty town, lots of fantastic places to eat and walks a plenty from your door step, no need to step in your car, shame there isnt an allocated parking space as road is narrow, but understand this is the Lake District! Cottage had all the home comforts and the shower is fabulous! Will definitely recommend to others and will definitely return.

Our second stay at Little Robin cottage beautiful cozy little cottage with everything you can think of lovely and warm great shower cute little garden at the back Best of all picture windows with fantastic views of the lakes our golden retriever loved it as near to scenic walks with tarns and waterfalls for swimming Highly recommend

Little Robin Cottage is a five minute walk from the centre of Ambleside up a steep hill! If mobility was an issue there are plenty of car parks in the town. The cottage itself was gorgeous. It was immaculately clean and comfortable! There was even underfloor heating in the kitchen, and the entire cottage was bright, airy and beautifully decorated. It was a perfect stay for me, my husband and our two dogs.
An absolutely lovely cottage very warm and cosy first class facilities. The kitchen and bathroom were beautifully done and well equipped. The bedroom was cosy and bed extremely comfortable the lounge was lovely to relax in, plenty of room to put a dog bed down for them to sleep in and we sat outside for a couple of evenings too. The undercroft is a fab space for drying clothes etc although we were lucky and didnt need this. However the freezer down there was a fab addition and we used this. I would highly recommend the cottage it is perfect and our dogs loved it too we would love to come back
Lovely property in a great location would definitely recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was cozy, clean, convenient and modernized. The host provided a notebook with great restaurant and walking recommendations. We were able to walk to the Swede Woods & Upper Swede packhorse bridge, which was a delight. The stairs were a challenge, but a good work out. We were able to do all of our laundry. We loved the view of all of the backyards & flowers we could see from the bedroom window.

A beautiful little cottage in a wonderful location. Had all the comforts of home was always a pleasure opening the Red Door after a day's hiking. The absolute bonus is the Undercroft complete with laundry facilities. The cottage was always warm and the water in the shower always hot. More than happy to recommend and I won't hesitate to book again on our next trip to the Lakes. P.S. Our two dogs believe we own our very own holiday home. They had a blast
A really lovely property with beautiful views, quiet position yet close to everything you would need. The cottage is very comfortable with tasteful furnishings & well equipped we would definitely recommend.
Trevor
This was a lovely cosy cottage and its location with fantastic walks from the door was perfect. The welcome pack sponge scourer, cloth, bin bag and dishwasher tablets no dishwasher on site was disappointing to put it mildly. I think the least we have received before was some milk in the fridge and a packet of biscuits. The house was a bit dusty and cobwebby it felt that it had been cleaned but a few weeks back. The quirkiness of the oven and hob would make us think twice about returning. We could only get the larger saucepan to work on the hob and the grill refused to come on. For maintenance the lounge window catch is getting loose probably just needs a tighten and the shower tray is leaking and needs a bit of sealant at the bottom left corner as you look at it from the doorway into the bathroom between the chrome riser and the shower tray. I don't want this to sound like a moan because we have had a lovely stay in a lovely comfortable cottage and none of the above spoilt our stay. We also really appreciated the ability to charge our electric car this was very easy to do, but there was no information about cost or whether there was a cheap tariff time.
Excellent property, cosy, welcoming and quiet location with good walks from the door and easily accessible to all amenities locally. Well thought out property catering for all weather conditions. Hope to return soon
