Could not fault the location heaven! The cleanliness the cleanest property we have ever stayed! So amazing to have all the kitchen utensils etc. Everything was so thoughtful and did not get lost on us! Would return in a heartbeat. Thank you to the owners.

Stableman's is a very comfortable cottage, in a great location, just a short walk from Ambleside and Rydal. It is very well equipped, and was very clean and tidy when we arrived. There are steep steps up to the cottage just a note of caution for young children or elderly or infirm adults.

We had a really lovely stay overall. The location is fantastic right by the stepping stones and within easy walking distance of Ambleside, Rydal Water, Grasmere and the Badger Bar. The bedroom views are stunning, the beds were incredibly comfy, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We also loved the games and oldschool DVDs our son was fascinated by them!, plus the little extras like tea bags and Kendal Mint Cake chocolates. A few small things could make the stay even better. It wasnt entirely clear from the listing that the cottage is attached to and tucked behind the main house wed assumed it was a standalone cottage, so thats worth knowing before booking. Access is also via quite steep steps, which may not suit those with mobility issues. The outdoor table could do with replacing as it was rusty, and parts of the decorfurniture felt a little dated compared to the luxury feel of the bedrooms. A bigger kitchen bin, washingup sponge and a couple of washing machine tablets would also have been helpful. The cleaners also arrived a little before checkout which made us feel slightly rushed, although they were very friendly. Overall though, we had a wonderful stay in a beautiful location and would definitely recommend it as a base for exploring the Lakes.

Another amazing stay at Stablemans Cottage. Location is absolutely superb far enough out from Grasmere and Ambleside that you arent tripping over tourists at every turn, but close enough that a brisk walk will get you to either village in decent time. I would recommend the cottage to anyone looking for a cosy homefromhome bolthole and will definitely book again in the future.

We had a fantastic few days at Stablemans Cottage. Very comfortable place to stay, easy walk into Ambleside, enjoyed meals at the Badger Bar a short stroll away, and only 10 minutes walk to our wedding venue at Cote How! Plus lots of hills to climb without needing to drive Loughrigg, Wansfell , Fairfield etc. Unforgettable!

The accommodation was ideal for our short break. The cottage was warm and comfortable. The location was excellent. Quiet walking routes to Rydal, Grasmere and Ambleside. Finding Stepping stones was easy but locating the cottage was a little tricky. Improved signage or instructions would help

Lovely property in an excellent location cosy and suited us perfectly . Theres a steep climb up the garden so be aware of this but wed definitely stay again

Absolutely brilliant stay, home from home, can't think of anything to fault. Situated just a 12 hour walk from Amblesides pubs and shops. Numerous walks from the doorstep. Would happily return.

The cottage was lovely and well appointed. Our only criticism was the parking, only a very small car will fit in the allocated parking space

Clean and wellmaintained, and a lovely quiet location

No complaints about the cottage in general. However the WiFi was effectively unusable, which was highly frustrating especially as we needed to spend some time working from the property. This was middescribed as having WiFi and I did send an email during the stay to which I got no reply. I do feel that a measure of compensation is due here.

Great cost cottage with everything needed for an enjoyable stay. Immaculately clean and very comfortable beds. Great location for leisurely walk to Ambleside or more challenging but beautiful walk to Grassmere. Lovely welcome pack and note from the owners

Lovely place to stay. Every comfort catered for. Nice to be able to set off from the doorstep and walk. As there were 5 of us it would have helped to have had a larger kitchen bin but that is the smallest of criticism We had a great stay

We took our friends from abroad to the Lake District. We could not have chosen a better location than Stablemans Cottage at Stepping Stones. The location was idyllic, centrally located for the hamlet of Rydal, and walking distance to Ambleside. The cottage was well equipped, comfortable and very clean. Im sure we will visit and come to the same place again.

Utterly stunning. Would return in a heartbeat. Say enjoying the peace and quiet at the kitchen table watching the deer on a couple of occasions. Cant recommend highly enough.

We had a brilliant stay at the cottage, we decided to extend our wedding weekend into a week and it was the perfect place to relax and soak up the surroundings. Having stayed at Stepping Stones before we knew we would enjoy our visit.

Lovely property in beautiful environment. Everything supplied that we needed. Only suggestion and not a criticism, needed a bigger kitchen bin for property designed for 5 adults and create an invisible space for ladder, ironing board etc. Otherwise couldnt fault very nice.
