Lovely apartment located in the middle of Ambleside in easy walking distance of all amenities and Lake at Waterhead. Apartment is well appointed with everything necessary for a good holiday.
We enjoyed a lovely weekend break in very comfortable accommodation. The property is centrally located and Ambleside centre just a short walk away.
Afton is perfectly located in Ambleside with easy access to town and plenty on offer in Ambleside. This was our second visit as we were so pleased with our first visit August 2023. This time we had upstairs 'neighbours' who put their TV on from the moment they got up, after they returned from their walks through to bed time which they are perfectly entitled to do, however, the permanent noise from their TV was most offputting and disturbed the peace we wanted. We left a day early as a result. The 'Smart' TV in Afton was awful to use and most of the time we gave up not that we watch much TV just a couple of hours after dinner in the evening. Due to disturbance from Afton View, sadly we would not risk a return visit.

A really nice place to stay,the flat was well presented, clean and tidy,nice touch with a welcome pack and milk. Close to the shops but still quiet and peaceful with parking at the front. Would certainly recommend to anyone.

Very clean, comfortable accommodation which has good facilities and is well furnished. The garden is an added bonus. Location is perfect, a stones throw from town, bus stops and lake yet peaceful.

This was one of the best self catering properties we have stayed at. Very clean and comfortable. Very tasteful furnishings and such a lovely welcome basket of Lakeland produce. The only thing we would have liked was a grabrail in the shower. All in all a very nice property with a very convenient location close to restaurants and shops. The local garden centre does a great breakfast.

Afton was home from home with a wonderful owner and daughter. The house that is divided into 2 flats upstairs and downstairs is in a very convenient location, which includes a car parking space for Afton and also includes a space for Afton View should anyone wish to hire both flats together. We really enjoyed the comfortable lounge recliner chairs and comfortable bed for a restful nights sleep after walking. We also enjoyed the small garden to the rear, ideal when the weather is good to sit outside. We look forward to visit again next year, with possibly hiring Afton View as well as Afton at the same time for another family member.

This property is a gem! The location is superb, just close enough to the town to be convenient for the centre but also close to the beauty of the Great Outdoors. We were able to avoid using the car for the entire week and still see so much of the surrounding area. I cannot speak highly enough of the owner who was able to resolve the only issue that came up with the minimum of fuss. We will definitely return to this property, and would recommend it to anyone.

Superb holiday cottage. It was so very warm and cosy in an excellent central location. Kath the owner was super helpful over an issue with the WiFi. We are so looking forward to returning and would highly recommend.
The accommodation was very clean, comfortable and in a quiet location. The welcome basket was very generous and a nice gesture. We are also pleased to hear that the accommodation is no longer up for sale, so we will definitely be back.
Just had our 2nd stay at Afton and can't fault it, perfect location, comfortable, clean and all the facilities you require for an enjoyable stay. In addition it has it's own off street private parking. It's just a real shame that the property is up for sale, this place was perfect for us. Many thanks to the current owner of this property for helping to provide us with 2 of the most memorable holidays we have ever had in this glorious part of the world.

What a wonderful find for us we wanted to book somewhere that was comfortable, clean and in a quiet location yet close enough to shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants with easy access to public transport and Afton ticked every single box! Very well appointed, comfortable and cosy holiday accomodation would not hesitate to recommend.

We really emjoyed our week in Afton. .as the start of our golden wedding anniversary tour of some of our fave places.The apartment is superb so comfy ..absolutely spotless and very well equipped .Tucked away in a quiet position but only 510 mins walk into town and 15mins to the lake..Lovely to have a garden to relax in too.Sorry to see the property is on the market we would definately book it again. 1010 Many thanks to the owners for the standard and quality of Afton

We have stayed in different self catering accommodation in Ambleside but Afton has been our favourite. It is perfect for 2 people, a real home from home. Spotlessly clean and so well equipped with everything you need. Near town centre but very quiet and super parking. Sorry to see the property up for sale! We would love to stay again.

We have stayed in a number of properties in Ambleside and Afton has to be the best so far. The location was perfect as you are a really close to all the amenities. The property was a really good size for 2 people and had everything we needed. The off road private parking was fantastic and the very pretty garden was an added bonus. Afton is a lovely property and is ideal for couples. It isn't in the loveliest of settings being in what is virtually a big yard but it does have its own secluded little garden. It is also within a few minutes walk of Ambleside town centre. We would definitely go back if it is still rentable the property includung the upstairs flat is on the market.

The property itself is a lovely holiday cottage with everything possible inside to make sure your stay is a comfortable one. The big problem for us was the arrival of builders. We hadn't been told by Lakelovers or the owners about building work when booking. Despite them knocking the TV aerial off we remained tolerant up until the third day when one of the builders used the foyer toilet.
Fabulous place. Excellent location and excellent parking. Facilities were brilliant. We could definitely live there! The Christmas decorations were a lovely touch.

Had a lovely stay here. Well situated in Ambleside With off road parking. The property was very clean. Maybe a little dated in places but lovely powerful shower and spotlessly clean bathroom. Bed is sadly just a double so felt a bit small for us but the mattress was comfortable. We didnt take advantage of the gym pass because we hiked so much but it was nice to have as an option Great to have a welcome basket with some local goodies in it. All in all a very nice stay that I would recommend to anyone and would visit again.

Back to our favourite town in the Lake District Ambleside . Second visit this year to Afton a wonderful cosy Home from Home. This apartment has everything one would require for a lovely visit Afton is in such a good position in the Town especially so in the evening all the Restaurants are walkable in 10mins max. Excellent location with safe off road parking directly adjacent to property and only a 2 3 minute walk to the centre of Ambleside. Property has everything you need, clean with good lay out, thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it would be difficult to suggest any negatives. Would highly recommend and we would have no hesitation in stopping here again.
Absolutely fabulous cottage to stay in for a break or preferably for ever. Every aspect of the cottage was excellent comfort, cleanliness, spacious, amenities, facilities and all top specification. The rear garden was a particular delight on the warm evenings after a long day on the fells followed by a meal and drinks in Ambleside. The location of the cottage was perfect, not in the heart of town, but on the edge, two minutes walk into the centre. The town of Ambleside itself has much to offer pubs, restaurants, cafes, shops, parks, places if interest so much that we found a week was not long enough. Our whole week was superb, a great combination of a top class cottage in a brilliant location.
