2 The Old Coach House Reviews

The property was in pristine condition, clean and comfortable. The only issue we had was the occupants at Number 1 parking their car across BOTH spaces, as they thought that the parking area was for 1 car only. Obviously they were wrong and apologised and the matter resolved, however I would suggest that BOTH bays be clearly marked with house numbers to remove any doubt that it is a 2 space car park
Great property very close to the heart of Ambleside with shops, bars and restaurants all nearby. Very well equipped and comfortable for us and our dog.
Joanne
Wonderful cottage, just a short walk away from all the wonderful shops, pubs and restaurants of Ambleside. The cottage was very comfortable, clean and perfect size for us and the dogs.
Lovely house. Clean..central..parking.warm..had trouble with Door Mechanism.. Maintenance fixed it.. Really Polite Guy
The only downside was the bathroom being down stairs
This cottage is a little gempractically spotless clean. .perfect location for shops pubs restaurantsfree parking
Very cozy cottage right in the middle of Ambleside. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds very comfortable. The toilet needs looking at, as you have to really pump it to get it to flush.
Property is in a great location close to amenities. The property could do with updating as is a little old fashioned, lots of stains on carpets upstairs, cobwebs and toilet is really difficult to flush. No welcome pack provided explaining how to use appliances just sticky notes dotted around the property.
Cottage was beautiful and excellent location. Really enjoyed our stay and will be back.
Tryfan
Lovely cottage in a great location. Very clean and had all facilities we needed.
Andrew
We loved our stay. When we walked into the property it smelled clean & fresh & felt lovely & warm, a real home from home. The bed was very comfortable. Maybe take a look at the toilet flush it was a bit temperamental. The bottle of prosecco was a really nice gesture & the pint of milk much appreciated. We would love to return to 2 The Old Coach House in the future.
Lovely cottage, everything there we needed for a nice weekend in Ambleside. Very comfortable an clean. Only downside is the very tight parking, which actually didnt affect us as there was nobody in the other cottage while we where there but would have been a very tight squeeze if another car had been there, but on the upside at least it has its own parking.
Elizabeth
A cosy cottage in the heart of Ambleside, we could not have asked for a better location to spend 3 nights for our 1st wedding anniversary. The cottage is so close to everything Ambleside has to offer. We spent 3 nights with 4 adults and our 2 dogs. They have really made the most of every bit of space. I would recommend those people who generally get up first in a morning to take the largest bedroom as this looks out on the living area so could be woken up but this was not an issue for us. The parking space is tight as previously written in other reviews but totally doable and great to have a parking space right in the centre of Ambleside. The cottage has everything we could want and would not hesitate to stay here again.
Lovely cottage only slight issue is the size of the parking space. Having a large estate made unloading and loading quite difficult when the other space was in use.
Arrived after a day walking in the rain to find the property had not been serviced. No clean towels or bedding and not cleaned. There was mess in the toilet but found out not really previous occupiers fault as toilet flush was faulty. Might be called dog friendly but nowhere within 10 minute walk to let dog out at night or in morning. Place itself was lovely and i expect if it had been cleaned and we didnt have dogs it would have been ideal
We had a lovely comfortable week stay. Parking was fine for our Golf, traffic will go around if you need to adjust in order to reverse in which is a must unless someone can back you out. The selector dial on the oven seems to be broken, could manage but took a while to find the right setting and then had to switch off completely to turn it off. All in all though everything was great.
First time visiting Lake District and we enjoyed our stay at No 2. The cottage had everything we needed. The location was fantastic and very comfortable and clean. We would visit again.
Jordan
Lovely property, close to all shops and pubs. Perfect for what we needed. Thankyou
Information booklet not up to date, smoke alarm had to be taken down due to battery needing replacing, ignition switch on the cooker broken, not by us i might add, toilet needed several attempts to flush, toilet seat in need of replacing, cottage in general in need of a refresh.
Really nice cottage ideally located with Ambleside centre just a few minutes stroll away. Very well equipped and gave us a feeling of a real home from home after a busy day out. Parking was tight but once parked in our allocated space on the first day we didn't need to get the car out again all week with all bars, cafes etc so nearby and buses regularly accessing the likes of Windermere and Grasmere on the doorstep and so cheap. The cottage was exactly as advertised on the website and we really couldn't fault it .

We were very happy with our stay at 2 The Old Coach House. It's perfectly located at the bottom end of Ambleside within easy reach of everything we needed. The mezzanine bedroom is a super feature and the bed was really comfy. There's plenty of space and the kitchen is extremely well stocked with all the pots, dishes and utensils you could want however, the cafetiere was broken unfortunately. Thanks for the Prosecco and the half pint of milk too much appreciated! There was actually a heatwave in the Lakes while we were there, but the cottage is naturally cool thanks to thick stone walls, I guess which was fantastic. Parking is tight but really not a problem. If we had to find fault, a more powerful shower would have been good, and it took us a day or two to work out the knack for flushing the toilet but that would really be nitpicking. Most important Rosie the dog loved the cottage too
A wonderful little cottage, really well located on one of the main streets in Ambleside. It has a very well equipped kitchen, great heating and hot water and comfortable seating area. One downside is that there is only one bathroom but otherwise it's all fabulous and I would absolutely stay there again!
Lovely cottage and very well done up. Perfect location for Ambleside and walking and very little need to use the car. I thought with 4 of us in the house for 3 nights it would be noisy but it wasn't at all. Very warm and cosy cottage with very efficient heating.

I think the property was lovely ,but i think the sofa was uncomfertable to sit in for long. Not a real problem for us as we were either out walking or in the pub in the evening .Also maybe a little dark as no windows downstairs but all in all a very lovely stay. Many thanks to all for our beautiful Ambleside stay .What a beautiful place and we hope to come back to cumbria soon .
Excellent location and facilities, and very clean. Liked the milk and Prosseco left for us. We would definitely return. Only downside was the parking space provided will only suit a small car. I could not get my SUV into the space with another car parked. Free parking is available a couple of minutes away though.
Very comfortable and unexpected space considering the small frontage. Just as a suggestion we felt that some coat hooks near the front door would have been very useful for coats dog leads, and if there had been space for a shoe rack for wet boots. But it was such a great use of space and the main bedroom was beautifully lit and decorated. Thank you.
Gerardine
Very good location will stay there again
A fabulous little cottage right in the centre of town. Had everything we needed and is a stylish place to stay just wish we could have recycled items. We will be coming back!
Brilliant location and a beautiful place to stay, we will be booking again.
Lovely property. Perfect for a short break. I forgot to take a few bits like washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets but it was all there, which just makes it easier. Great directions and information before getting there. Close to town centre, walks, lakes, food shops, takeaways etc. We had a lovely weekend, would definitely book again. Thank you.
Wonderful stay despite the terrible weather! Perfect location for this cosy cottage. Everything we could need was included and the welcome Prosecco was a lovely touch. Would stay again and recommend to others.
