Another wonderful week at Honister. Everything you need for a comfortable week. Comfy beds and well equipped kitchen. Lounge with great views and because the weather was perfect every evening out on the patio. Pub was within a short walk for hearty meals and the bus stop ideal for trips out. What more could we want. Booked again for October.

Very comfortable cottage everything you needed was provided. Cottage very clean and comfortable. Lovely walk both to pubrestaurant just five minutes away which did lovely meals as was walk to Hawkshead about two miles away bluebells were in full bloom and were a delight to see. Would recommend.

We spent a week at Honister Cottage. Everything was very clean and the kitchen was wellequipped. We felt comfortable from the start and almost at home. Thanks to its convenient location, we were able to do a lot in the surrounding area.

My friend and I stayed in Hinistercottage for a week. She is from Scotland and myself from Lancashire. It was nice when we walked in and were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness. The wildlife was great to see. We had a syoat visit us and some voles. Lovely views from the window and bus stop close by. No shop as advertised nearby but a great pub. The food we had wasn't brilliant though.Loved the place overall, however it did lack lack a welcome pack so no milk, tea coffee sugar after a long drive. Which everyone would love. Also the window in the upstairs bedroom needs sorting as it let the wind in. And the bed upstairs was not comfy for one person. There seemed to be some kind of ridge in the middle which had you at a slant so not good for sleep. We would definitely return again and all the better if the few issues were sorted..

Lovely property,everything you needed for a pleasant stay,A little tired in places and perhaps a better information pack required . Very cosy especially when it was wet outside.Pub a short walk and a good bus service to Coniston and Ambleside.Would recommend a bath mat in the en suite.Wouldnt hesitate to go back in fact looking for next year now.

This was our second stay at Honister which is a lovely comfortable cottage in a good location for the Langdales and Ambleside. We were somewhat surprised at the lack of basic cleaning materials, not even a dishcloth was provided. Also what has happened to a welcome basket , not even a pint of milk in the fridge or a teabag to welcome us after a very long drive!

Very comfortable cottage. Warm and cosy with nice view. Pleasure to stay in when rain stopped play. Good location to visit plenty of Lake District gems. Would like to visit again.

We love staying at Honister Cottage. A lovely cosy and clean cottage based in Outgate. It is close to a pub and bus stop with secure off road parking. Walking routes close by and the lovely scenery from the windows an added bonus.

Lovely cottage with great views. Bus stop 2 minutes walk away and we used it nearly every day to get around without having to use the car, a real bonus. Used free bus journeys to Ambleside, Grasmere, Kendal and Keswick. Plenty of lovely walks close by that werent too strenuous. Disappointed that there were no extras. Empty tea and coffee canisters, not sure why they were even there. A welcoming pint of milk would have been a nice touch. Would recommend staying at Honister cottage.

For us Honister Cottage is perfect in location, size and amenities. So much so, we have already booked for Easter 2026!

I have stayed at Honister many times and love the cottage and it is always very comfortable and well equipped. Any problem is dealt with swiftly. It is very convenient for buses to all of Lakeland and the pub 5 minutes walk away is very friendly with delicious food. I would recommend Honister for a wonderful stay in the Lakes. An immaculate property in a beautiful setting. Really well equipped and comfortable as well as spacious. The views and the wildlife in the garden was stunning! 50 yard stroll to the local pub which serves good food. Great location for exploring a wide area.

The cleanliness of the cottage was disappointing, on arrival we found that all sinks and toilets required cleaning. There were cobwebs all round which we cleaned some of them but it looked as though there had not been any proper cleaning for some time.

Another wonderful week at Honister cottage. Comfortable and clean with good facilities. Two en suite bedrooms are perfect for a stay with friends. No queuing for the bathroom! Showers in both and a bath in one if you want a good soak after an energetic walk! Easy pleasant footpath to Hakeshead and a regular bus back to Outgate. Spacious cottage with comfy beds. It is nestled in a group of other cottages with wonderful views out the front. Welcome pack containing dishwasher tablets was nice but would have liked some washing up liquid and condiments. The washer dryer did not work very well took ages to dry anything. Local pub is shut but the Drunken Duck with amazing views is a short drive. We liked the location and no noise from neighbours.

Yet again e we had a great stay in honister cottage it has to be our favourite one setting location and cottage it self fantastic we are going back . Also just a quick note to the cleaner who cleaned cottage on are arrival was excellent

I WAS DISAPOINTED TO HAVE TRAVELLED 6 HOURS AND NOT EVEN A PINT OF MILK IN THE FRIDGE! WHEN WE ENTERED THE PROPERTY WE WERE MET WITH A REALLY FUSTY SMELL WHICH WE NOTICED STAINED CEILINGS IN BOTH DINING ROOM AND KITCHEN WHICH WAS VERY OFF PUTTING AND NOT WELCOMING. WE JUST DIDNT GET THE FEEL FOR THE PROPERTY WHICH WAS A SHAME JUST TO REMOTE FOR US AND THE PUB BEING CLOSED DIDNT HELP EITHER. WE CAME HOME EARLY ON TUESDAY.

Our fourth visit to Honister Cottage. We have booked again for next year. Perfect property for us and the added bonus of lovely views and privacy. Nice pub nearby does good food and walks on the doorstep. Near a bus stop so can get about without the need to always take the car.

A fantastic holiday in a lovely cottagecouldn't fault it , in anywaywith marvelous views including Latterbarrow. I was born near here many years ago and it was a pleasure to go back.

Cottage is comfortable but needs updating. WiFi is very patchy!! And also needs updating. Otherwise we love the cottage and it's location. We probably will not go again until the above has been rectified.

When we arrived at Honister . .what a welcoming sight....The views were amazing and everyday we opened the curtains in the lounge it was still gorgeous to look at ...the cottage was perfect in everyway possible... Everything we wanted was there...we could not fault it in anyway at all...we will be definitely booking again here ..A beautiful place to stay...and as always the Lake District did not disappear....so many places to visit and hawkhead is only 2 and Half miles away ..

The property was beautifully located for a peaceful stay. It had everything we could wish for in terms of facilities.The welcome packs for cleaning and tea and coffee were useful. Lovely to have a bath and a shower available for use. Unfortunate that you were not able to recycle.I took my bottles and cardboard down to the pub car park rather than put them in with the general rubbish.

Think it should be mentioned that downstairs bedroom is very small.

This is our second visit to Honister cottage and we cant wait to visit again. The location is so lovely and peaceful yet only a very short walk from the Outgate Inn which serves food and a short drive from Ambleside.The village of Hawkshead.is a delightful 3540 min walk from the cottage. The cottage itself is well furnished ,well equipped,comfortable and clean. We have no hesitation in recommending this property.

We had a great stay the cottage is very well placed for several walks from the doorstep. We especially loved Tarn Hows, a stunning 3 mile walk away. There is a bus stop with a hourly service at the end of the road and we enjoyed the Outgate Inn and a drink at the Drunken Duck. The accommodation itself is spacious and light and we appreciated the washing machine! Comfortable beds and excellent showers. All in all thoroughly recommended as a base to explore this fabulous part of the world.
