A lovely, bright, spacious and comfortable apartment. We really enjoyed our stay. We particularly loved the window nook with a fantastic view. The allotted parking space was snug but I assume we could have parked in the guest parking area above if it was an issue. Towels, a few dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, a sponge, tea towels, loo rolls and hand soap were included and a bottle of prosecco. The TV is a smart TV.

This is one of the best properties we have stayed in and we have been holidaying in the Lake District for over 30 years. The property is spacious with extremely comfortable beds and a generous amount of quality seating. The kitchen is very well equipped with plenty of crockery, cutlery and utensils. The icing on the cake has to be the stunning views from the bay windows in the sitting room. The minute you set foot into this luxury apartment you really feel you are on holiday. We have been visiting Romney 14 three or four times in the year for several years now and have no plans to look elsewhere so that says it all. Already booked for a fortnight in May 2027

The apartment was beautiful, clean, spacious and very comfortable. Had a fantastic weeks sleep. The view from the bay window was breathtaking, never got tired of seeing it. Lovely walk into the hills and across the valley from the track at the side with a view out across windermere. The apartment was close to lots of amenities and an easy walk into Ambleside. It was great to be able to use the boats from Waterhead without having to worry about parking and charges. The green cruise to Wray Castle, Brockholes and back to Ambleside was really good, especially since you can get off the boat at each location and have a walk around. Would highly recommend Romney 14 and definitely wouldn't hesitate to book it again.

This was our second visit to Romney 14 with a 3 generation family 17 years to 88 years and it won't be our last! The property is in a fantastic location and we loved our time there. There was one issue with a shower tray not draining and this was dealt with promptly. There would be two suggestions I would make our visit coincided with a heatwave and the apartment was unbearably hot, especially for my elderly mam. Having fans available for each room for summer visits I feel is essential to keep the spaces comfortable. For our mixed age group a second TV in one of the bedrooms would also have been most useful.

14 Romney Grange is, overall, a really comfortable and excellently located apartment. Some earlier reviews mention items of updating or maintenance that could be undertaken This is probably true but set against the outstanding qualities of the apartment these are of minimal importance and did not detract one iota from our enjoyment. Were we to return to Ambleside we would certainly be delighted to secure 14 Romney as our base.

This was our first stay at this apartment, and we had a wonderful time. The website photographs accurately reflect the property and, if anything, do not do it justice in terms of the space available. The main living and communal area is extremely spacious, while each bedroom is generously sized, wellequipped, and benefits from ample builtin storage for clothes and personal belongings. The bathroom facilities are excellent, and the powerful showers are perfect after a long day exploring the Lake District. The bay window provides a stunning panoramic view of the Langdale Pikes and the Ambleside launch point for Windermere cruises. The side balcony offers a lovely view of 3-Bedroom Cottage Sleeping 5 with Log Burner in Ambleside Fell, albeit slightly obscured by the trees. Nevertheless, it provides a useful outdoor space to get some fresh air, assess the day's weather, or simply enjoy the night sky. The property is only a short walk from the centre of Ambleside and includes an allocated parking space within the apartment complex, which is a real bonus. The welcoming bottle of Prosecco was very much appreciated, thank you. The Lakelovers office staff were also extremely friendly and kindly provided an extra set of keys, which helped greatly with the logistics of our stay. I would highly recommend this property, and we fully intend to return at some point in the nottoodistant future.

We had a lovely festive break. The flat was beautiful, the view amazing, very clean, great facilities. A great location to walk into Ambleside and of course to catch the boat. All wonderful!

This is our fourth stay at Romney 14. This time my sister and brotherinlaw joined us and we had another memorable stay. Although it rained a lot, this did not spoil our stay as the scenery from the apartment is breathtaking and we enjoyed sitting at the window seat and drinking it all in. The property is extremely comfortable. Plenty of seating and the most comfortable beds of any holiday home we have been in. The kitchen has plenty of crockery and utensils. Not an issue, but a few larger china mugs would be welcome, although we have already booked a fortnight for next year and intend bringing our own as we do like our tea and coffee. There was a patch on one of the bedroom ceilings which was dry so assume it was just waiting to be freshly painted when the property is empty. I mentioned this to Sykes and they said they would forward to the maintenance team. Cant wait for our next visit to Romney 14 in the spring and hopefully have some better weather. Thank you also for the complimentary bottle of Prosecco.

Fantastic apartment, the icing on the cake was the view across Lake Windermere, our go to seating was sitting in the window seat watching the boats and people come n go. The apartment was spacious n clean with a well equipped kitchen. Kitchen tap had a drip just made sure plug was not in. The shared bathroom was spotless just a little mold along tray which happens n am sure these will be rectified. We all said had the best sleep ever. We have booked Ambleside for the last 5 years and this has been our favourite property. We are hoping to return next year, if not sooner.

Lovely spacious home comfy beds and great showers with plenty of hot water when we found the switch to turn on. Few areas could do with a more thorough clean kitchen doors handles should really be cleaned after every visit. 3 out if 4 bulbs in living area werent working, asked twice to be resolved with either replacement bulbs or decent lamp but not resolved and no feedback meant it was too dark to sit and play games or complete jigsaw whilst sat on sofas. But with such a good location would definitely recommend the property. Appreciated the Prosecco but personally would have preferred to be provided with basics like washing up liquid and soap in bathrooms.

Our 3rd visit to Romney 14, and its just as it always is warm, very spacious, comfortable and the sun just shines in all day, when it actually shines, it is the lakes after all. Our top recommendation for this apartment, it really is that good.

Lovely stay. Great facilities and space. Fabulous views to enjoy. Would definitely stay again. Just a couple of opportunities. The microwave timer clock has an issue. Some repair work needed around the window seat. Extra box or bin for recycling items would be useful.

The flat was a little dusty a d under the cupboard in the bedroom had not been cleaned as our daughter found old ferry tickets. Bigger cups would be better in the kitchen for hot drinks. The hot water ran out several times. The guide book said complimentary bottle of wine but no wine provided. Tea bags and small milk left would have been a nice compliment too! Lovley view from the property. A dust bin with a recycling section would be useful as no where to store recycling before carrying it all down to the outside bins.

Very, very pleased with this apartment, spacious, comfortable and with great views of the marina area, which looked great at night with all the lights. We Highly recommend this for any length of stay, memorable!

Wonderful views from the apartment, great place to stay to explore the local area and easy access to bus travel and lake cruises.

The property was amazing in all areas location, space and facilities. It was perfect and met all our requirements. Also, this was the first time we booked with Sykes and the entire booking to departure process was fantastic.

Good views and position. The flat was clean, and the facilities and furnishings were good. The bed was too soft. The flat was noisy partially due to its position overlooking a busy road junction, added to by builders and garden maintenance. Providing just one set of keys for a threebedroomed flat is simply absurd. This alone would mean we will not return.

Great location and fabulous view over the Lake. 2nd time at this apartment and would still return.

Very lovely apartment, beautifully presented, comfortable, with stunning views. Only issue was some black mould around some of the windows. We had a wonderful week, it is a fantastic place to base your holiday in the Lakes. The staff at Sykes were very friendly and helpful too.

Lovely property in a perfect location. We were able to abandon the car for the whole week and walk, used buses as the stop was conveniently outside the property. We also took the ferry to Bowness as again the pier was located right outside the property. Would highly recommend the property. The only negatives, which we did feedback to heart of the lakes was the fridge freezer was off when we arrived. We had arrived with chilled food and did have a grocery delivery which we had to manage. We also didnt receive the welcome wine that was advertised.

A lovely apartment with great views across Windemere. It has large rooms, is well equipped and in a great location. It was a great base for the week.

An excellent apartment very comfortable and well located with great views over the lake. Conveniently the Bus stops at the bottom of the drive which makes transport easy and we didnt use the car all week. Hope to stay again some time.
