We had a lovely festive break. The flat was beautiful, the view amazing, very clean, great facilities. A great location to walk into Ambleside and of course to catch the boat. All wonderful!

This is our fourth stay at Romney 14. This time my sister and brotherinlaw joined us and we had another memorable stay. Although it rained a lot, this did not spoil our stay as the scenery from the apartment is breathtaking and we enjoyed sitting at the window seat and drinking it all in. The property is extremely comfortable. Plenty of seating and the most comfortable beds of any holiday home we have been in. The kitchen has plenty of crockery and utensils. Not an issue, but a few larger china mugs would be welcome, although we have already booked a fortnight for next year and intend bringing our own as we do like our tea and coffee. There was a patch on one of the bedroom ceilings which was dry so assume it was just waiting to be freshly painted when the property is empty. I mentioned this to Sykes and they said they would forward to the maintenance team. Cant wait for our next visit to Romney 14 in the spring and hopefully have some better weather. Thank you also for the complimentary bottle of Prosecco.

Fantastic apartment, the icing on the cake was the view across Lake Windermere, our go to seating was sitting in the window seat watching the boats and people come n go. The apartment was spacious n clean with a well equipped kitchen. Kitchen tap had a drip just made sure plug was not in. The shared bathroom was spotless just a little mold along tray which happens n am sure these will be rectified. We all said had the best sleep ever. We have booked Ambleside for the last 5 years and this has been our favourite property. We are hoping to return next year, if not sooner.

Lovely spacious home comfy beds and great showers with plenty of hot water when we found the switch to turn on. Few areas could do with a more thorough clean kitchen doors handles should really be cleaned after every visit. 3 out if 4 bulbs in living area werent working, asked twice to be resolved with either replacement bulbs or decent lamp but not resolved and no feedback meant it was too dark to sit and play games or complete jigsaw whilst sat on sofas. But with such a good location would definitely recommend the property. Appreciated the Prosecco but personally would have preferred to be provided with basics like washing up liquid and soap in bathrooms.
Our 3rd visit to Romney 14, and its just as it always is warm, very spacious, comfortable and the sun just shines in all day, when it actually shines, it is the lakes after all. Our top recommendation for this apartment, it really is that good.

Lovely stay. Great facilities and space. Fabulous views to enjoy. Would definitely stay again. Just a couple of opportunities. The microwave timer clock has an issue. Some repair work needed around the window seat. Extra box or bin for recycling items would be useful.
The flat was a little dusty a d under the cupboard in the bedroom had not been cleaned as our daughter found old ferry tickets. Bigger cups would be better in the kitchen for hot drinks. The hot water ran out several times. The guide book said complimentary bottle of wine but no wine provided. Tea bags and small milk left would have been a nice compliment too! Lovley view from the property. A dust bin with a recycling section would be useful as no where to store recycling before carrying it all down to the outside bins.

The property was amazing in all areas location, space and facilities. It was perfect and met all our requirements. Also, this was the first time we booked with Sykes and the entire booking to departure process was fantastic.
Good views and position. The flat was clean, and the facilities and furnishings were good. The bed was too soft. The flat was noisy partially due to its position overlooking a busy road junction, added to by builders and garden maintenance. Providing just one set of keys for a threebedroomed flat is simply absurd. This alone would mean we will not return.

Very lovely apartment, beautifully presented, comfortable, with stunning views. Only issue was some black mould around some of the windows. We had a wonderful week, it is a fantastic place to base your holiday in the Lakes. The staff at Sykes were very friendly and helpful too.
Lovely property in a perfect location. We were able to abandon the car for the whole week and walk, used buses as the stop was conveniently outside the property. We also took the ferry to Bowness as again the pier was located right outside the property. Would highly recommend the property. The only negatives, which we did feedback to heart of the lakes was the fridge freezer was off when we arrived. We had arrived with chilled food and did have a grocery delivery which we had to manage. We also didnt receive the welcome wine that was advertised.

An excellent apartment very comfortable and well located with great views over the lake. Conveniently the Bus stops at the bottom of the drive which makes transport easy and we didnt use the car all week. Hope to stay again some time.

Romney 14 is a great apartment. Very comfortable, really good location and excellent views. The window seat became a favourite spot to sit and still enjoy the Lakes if the weather was bad. Lots of great walks on the doorstep so we didnt have to drive out somewhere every day. The open top bus with a stop outside was excellent value and the Tearooms at Troutbeck was a fab find.
We're very fussy about accommodation but I can easily say the apartment was a pleasure to stay in. Location, views, all rooms really good and well equipped. No complaints.
