The cottage was lovley. However very dissapointed that the single bed linen had not been changed this highlighted by a used cotton makeup remover found under pillow. No extra bin liners where left for rubbish. It was stated tgat a starter pack would be left for wood burner but this was not the case
Beautiful cottage everything first class, no expense spared on this beautiful cottage everything you ever need and more, Cosy & comfy even in the worst weather the cottage is just perfect, you really feel you are being looked after as a guest rather than just another customer. A short walk into the town centre going down a bit longer going back up but good fun all the same. Excellent off road parking definitely a big plus, October in the summer house such fun having a drink wrapped up with throws watching the birds absolute bliss, will definitely return, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Property was very comfortable and well resourced. Might be difficult for elderly re steep stairs and no bathroom on upper floor. Challenging walk from Ambleside to property but reasonable if you take your time. We knew what we were booking so not a criticism. We would book again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Byways! The cottage is stylish, cosy and very well equipped. Everything you could need is here. We enjoyed using the summer house, especially on sunny evenings. The location is perfect, being a pleasant stroll from the centre of Ambleside and surrounded by stunning views and the gentle sound of the waterfalls. It was great to have private parking although we didnt need to use the car with so many wonderful walks right from the doorstep! A perfect Lakeland break and we hope to return! Thank you.

An excellentlyequipped cottage, in a good central but quiet position with fell walks available from the doorstep. A couple of minor suggestions Cut back some of the shrubs in the garden area for this cottage to make room for an outdoor bench to make the best of sunny weather. Getting the patio furniture out of the summer house to enjoy a quiet cup of tea outside is a bit of a hassle, and not very scenic looking at the parked car! Install a grab rail above the bath, to help less agile guests climbing in and out of the shower.

Great location, good easily accessed off road parking. Cottage very cosy & has everything you need for a great stay, comfy double bed, all the accommodation was well presented & we had a very enjoyable stay.
We had a lovely week stay last week of February. The area is quiet and peaceful but near enough Ambleside for shops and cafs. The off road parking is a plus. The cottage is big enough for 4 people to stay comfortably and the woodburner is so cosy. Having the boot room and washing facilities is a life saver for walking in the fells and getting our kit washed and dried. We would definitely recommend and would stay again.
A lovely, cosy little cottage we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Byways. The very well equipped kitchen was much appreciated, as we cooked a few meals. We probably wouldn't have chosen to stay here had we realised there was no upstairs toilet, but that was our error in misreading the listing, which was accurate. The heating default setting of 20 deg C was a bit cool for winter, we thought but at least it could be overriden. Overall, a very good experience the lack of an upstairs toilet aside, we would stay again.

Just as comfortable and cozy as we remember from many visits over the last 36 years. A lovely refurbishment too. The struggle back up The Struggle is unfortunately becoming more noticeable with age!

The key pad was a little difficult to access. There were no instructions for the dishwasher. Other wise it was an excellent property. We thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the building. It had all the necessary facilities and was warm and comfortable.

Only small thing for feedback is that the fan in the bathroom stayed on for the duration of our stay and seemingly didnt have a timer on it to auto switch off.
