On the surface its a great property and superb location but some small things need addressing. Sofas are not comfortable enough for a relaxing evening so would recommend changing them. The downstairs ensuite bedroom is very cold due to the door to outside being in there. The downstairs one fridge was mouldy and as such gave off an odour.
Wonderful place. .. Loved it. Especially liked the upstairs lounge. Niggles WiFi didn't work had to use data all week Couldn't find oven gloves had to use a towel Too cold, had to adjust heating Not enough toilet rolls a bit mean! Not enough dishwasher tablets also mean

The cottage was beautiful and mainly comfortable. There were a few things that could have made it better but we didnt report them during our stay. As mentioned multiple times in the visitors book the toilet seats are loose and slide and the downstairs bedrooms were quite dusty. The TV reception was very poor and non existent at times. Not good when you are trying to watch a World Cup qualifier game. We couldnt get the spa bath to work. Otherwise the lounge and kitchen were both fabulous, although a few throws would have added to the comfort factor. The location was also great for walks and it was a five minute walk to Ambleside shops.
A lovely cottage with modern, clean and spacious interiors. The kitchen is gorgeous and very well equipped. Great, off road parking facilities. Just a 510 minute walk into Ambleside. Not a criticism of the cottage more for awareness for those booking its on the main road which is busy.

We had a lovely stay at the property. Very comfortable and equipped with everything we needed for a great holiday. Cottage well placed for lots of walks and a short walk into Ambleside . Garden lovely with fabulous views and a nice decked area to eat outside. We would definately recommend staying here and would love to come back.

Great location with easy access to Town Centre. Lovely property with a lovely view which accomadated 5 adults comfortably. After a day out, it was lovely to walk into the house and cosy up . The book, which gave us a list of all the local walks and their difficulty, was invaluable to us as one of our party had mobility issues. All in all a a we had a lovely stay and would definitely return to the Old Coach House. Kr Steve
The only issue we had was finding the property, we passed it twice! The sign is too small and obscured by foliage, otherwise a great property and had a fantastic time.
Very comfortable, more black bags would be good, surprised no recycling, front door lock a little temperamental and main upstairs shower grouting needing some cleaning. However we had a great stay and liked the well stocked kitchen, lovely linen and towels, and plenty room to chill out. Very central for walks, town etc. would book it again.
We had the most fantastic time. An amazing house with everything you need. A family Christmas we all enjoyed so much. Walks on our doorstep, Ambleside a very short walk away. They left us a welcome pack that was so generous and enjoyed the wines and jams. Loved the mug with the very famous Cumbrian Herdwicks printed on it. Immaculate house would definitely go back to it.

Beautiful house, location was brilliant just outside Ambleside. The private car parking was a huge plus too, can be tricky to find in the lakes. Kitchen was great, beds were all comfy as was the living room lots of space in living room too. It looked as though it hadn't been used for a week or two, and had therefore not been cleaned immediately before our stay lots of obvious cobwebs in more than one room. Couple maintenance issues that need addressing, the upstairs sink was leaking, the downstairs en suite shower drain was partially blocked, and the kitchen lights kept flickering if we turned them up worked fine when on the lowest setting so not a huge issue. Also I would say one drawback about the layout of the house is the downstairs toilet is very cramped. Still an enjoyable stay overall, have been before and probably would stay again if those maintenance issues were sorted.
Very clean , good kitchen and equipment
Had a lovely stay plenty big enough for my wife and my daughters family 6 of us been coming to Ambleside for 15 years and we found the cottage ideal. Just a slight gripe, the seating in the 2 seater sofa had gone home and some oven gloves would have been nice. Apart from that really lovely and we'll be back. Gary and Marion Mabbott

We found the cottage was in a great location with all the facilities we needed. We did however find the accommodation slightly dirty in places on our arrival, but this was quickly rectified ourselves. Overall, Ideal location, easy parking and all mod cons
This was a lovely property, perfectly situated for many of the main lower lakes. It was comfortable and spacious for 6 of us and we were impressed with the kitchen and living room in particular as they allowed us to spend time together with lots of space to relax. The cleanliness could be improved, there were lots of spiders webs and spiders throughout the property which made the place feel a bit dirty, plus no hand soap was provided in any of the bathrooms which I would expect as a minimum. It was also a shame that other than tea bags, there wasn't a welcome pack of a pint of milk and a cake or packet of biscuits which I have experienced in all other cottages I've visited. Overall, I would happily stay again, and I hope the feedback has been constructive.

A truly beautiful cottage in a brilliant location Can't wait to visit again

The kitchen was brilliant, a real central hub to the holiday and very well equipped. We really liked the Jacuzzi also, but we felt there should have been an extra toilet provided for the house. I could not understand why the ensuite shower room did not have one. Lovely sitting area and views, we were lucky with the weather and even appreciated the garden. Location is brilliant for Ambleside.
Nicola
Amazing property in a fantastic location. The property itself was stunning and to a very high standard and a short 5 min walk in the ambleside and amenities.
Pauline
The house is very comfortable and well equipped. Location is good as it is a short walk to Ambleside and there is access to lots of hills. One little niggle was the lack of soap in the bathroom and en suites. Otherwise we had a great week.
A great location but in thorough need of a deep clean and some modernisation
We all had a lovely week at the Old Coach House. The cottage is so comfortable and has everything you could want. The jacuzzi bath in the upstairs bathroom was a lovely surprise. The kitchen was incredible and a pleasure to cook in with everything in plentiful supply and of great quality. We had a problem with the electrics on Friday but I was very impressed by Lakelovers getting someone out so quickly on a Bank Holiday. I would definitely recommend this cottage.
We loved our stay in Ambleside. Cottage was wonderful, it was well equipped, comfy and just the perfect location. When I rang Sykes to book our holiday, the service we received was excellent friendly, and efficient. Loved it all!
The cottage definitely lived up to expectations. Central location, very spacious and comfortable. The only thing to highlight is the road crossing outside the cottage, it is quite precarious especially with an infant.
Great cottage with everything provided for a lovely holiday
Nicola
The house is absolutely fine comfy sofas and nice bathrooms but the listing is a bit misleading as it fronts the main road into Ambleside which has heavy traffic all day the kitchen is large and a lovely room but lacks some fairly basic items such as tongs and serving bowls I did appreciate the very high quality pans very unusual and the huge fridge freezer there are lovely views over the water meadows from the lounge and it is a nice walk to the village on pavements the property is well located for pretty much all of the Lake District the showers didnt look promising but there was plenty of hot water and very good water pressure my main issues are 1 the heating is set and I quote to provide background warmth it at 17. 9 degrees using plug in radiators and the feature fire is fine if you are in the room but doesnt warm the house obvs not a problem all year but we had a chilly wet week in October 2 that I find it unique in all the companies that I rent through that there is no basic welcome pack 3 the towels were certainly well loved and very small although clean Cleanliness overall give or take a few cobwebs and dusty glass shades was very good Overall this is a very nice house but dont forget to bring milk when you arrive and if you like a nice fluffy large towel pack your own
Ideal location, just a short stroll from Ambleside. We have stayed at next door property before, even though on main road it is quiet. Great house for family get together, facilities and amenities great. Just could do with some glass tumblers for whisky
Gillian
We hope next year The Pandemic will be a distant memory and we will to be able to share this quirky lovely holiday cottage safely with our sons.
