Oakdene House Reviews

We have been coming to the Lake District for 35 years and have been experimenting with a lot of different Airbnbâ??s and cottages and found Oakdene House to be the best of them all. We finally feel that weâ??ve found the right place. The cottage is situated in a perfect central location to all of our favourite towns and walks, has a lovely cafe and shop opposite the road, possibly the best pub in the country a short walk away. The beds are comfortable, there is ample space inside while still being cosy, the house was immaculately clean and generally pretty perfect. We will continue to stay in Oakdene house and will recommend to friends and family.

Brilliant location for walks, shop, pub, Ambleside, Grasmere, and very peaceful at the same time. Sixth or seventh time in the house, and our favourite of the 7 local properties weâ??ve stayed in.

Oak Dene house is a lovely cottage, clean, well equipped and ideal for our extended family. It is located in Chapel Stile in Langdale and close to Elterwater. Lovely local walks, 2 excellent pubs in walking distance and a well-stocked Co-Op store across the village green. . The garden could benefit from tidying up.

A superb holiday home. Fabulous accommodation in a lovely spot. Many walks accessible from the property for mixed abilities. Boot room a real bonus as well. To top it off a week of glorious weather at the end of March. Very unexpected

Lovely, spacious property. Well equipped kitchen and smart bathrooms. Very cosy all round in a delightful village so near to other parts within the Lake District and walks, pub and shop on the doorstep.

A modern, well equipped cottage with ample space for 5 adults and 3 children and a secure garden for the dog. It is in a great situation in the centre of the village in one of the loveliest valleys in the Lake District with plenty of walks from the door.

A wonderful house and cottage, we have stayed in both and this time had both together for a family get together, there is a connecting door.. Great shop opposite which sells anything you have forgotten or might need, staffed by very friendly local people. So many walks from the door you don't need to use the car all week, also close to the bus stop.

Well situated. Extremely well equipped! Very spacious and comfortable. High quality fittings and fixtures.

Very comfortable beds and good showers - foundations for a good rental. Lovely location with great walking from the door and good bus connection to Ambleside.

Spacious, private, large garden and fabulous walks from the door. Excellent Co-op 2mins walk away and a great pub. Stunning views. Only negative was no recycling bins.

A lovely, modern, comfortable and spacious property in a terrific location. Everything we expected / hoped / needed to be available - just was! The large garden on 3 sides of the house is a huge bonus. Lots of sunshine, and a paradise for our young red fox Labrador.

This is our 3rd year going to Oakdene. Very comfy, ideal position for local shop, bus stop, pubs and lovely walks. We will definitely be back next year.

We have just spent week at Oakdene House, a party of five adults, two small babies and two dogs. The house is delightful, incredibly comfortable and well equipped, particularly the kitchen. The fenced in garden was a bonus with two dogs and the outside hose and shower ideal for rinsing them off after walks. The house is conveniently situated in Chapel Stile and accessible with pushchairs. Weather was mixed, as expected, but we enjoyed many walks along the valley in both directions. The paths are accessible with pushchairs and we found plenty to do without needing to use cars. The electric charging point was also appreciated. We would definitely book Oakdene House again.
