We had a wonderful stay despite the weather. The tea tray was most welcome on arrival and the brownies were delicious. The cottage was wonderful. A short walk into Ambleside. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Cosy and warm. Nice and spacious and oodles of storage room. The hosts were very accommodating. Note to Sykes Cottages. Your parking instructions need tweaking. It becomes clear in the welcome pack when you get in the cottage exactly where to park. Highly recommended
Lovely little cottage, we had a lovely week up in Ambleside again, despite a severe cold. Thank you so much for bringing us some cough medicine. We would certainly like to visit again.

What a lovely little cottage a great place to unwind and chill for a few days. The cottage is set back and hidden from the road and only a short walk to the centre. There is a great bus service from just outside the property no need to drive we will be hoping to visit again in the future.
We stayed at the long crag annexe for the second year in a row. It is perfectly situated in Ambleside..Rosemary and George are excellent hosts .The accomadation is clean ,modern and comfortable. We would reccomend this property to anyone wanting to stay in the lake district .

We had a lovely stay at Long Crag Annex, it was in a perfect location a two minute walk to the centre of Ambleside and had ample parking for our car. The pictures dont really do the size of the space justice, it has a kingsize bed, separate lounge area, large walk in shower and long kitchen with huge fridge and separate freezer. George and Rosemary were very friendly and had a left a delicious cake and very helpful welcome guide which we used to find a nice walk to Rydal upon arrival. We had a wonderful week and will definitely be back soon!
Property was in an ideal location. It was clean and tidy with all the necessary facilities. The bed was comfortable and the bathshower room had complimetary toiletries . Would definatley stay at the Long Crag Annexe again !!!!

The flat lounge and bedroom were very nice and the bed was extremely comfortable but the although had all the equipment you needed there were several cobwebs in the ceiling corners. The shower tray in the bathroom had black mould all round the edges and there were hairs on the actual tray and the toilet seat didn't fit properly. It is a shame because if these problems were addressed it is in the perfect location and would be a really nice property but I am unable to recommend and would not use again.

Apartment is in a great location,5 minutes from the centre of Ambleside. Its a decent size and the kitchen has everything you would need including a washing machine. Its sadly on the main road in and out of Ambleside so you do hear traffic noise, its dog friendly but nowhere for dogs to actually walk play unless you go to the park 5 minutes awaynot ideal when your dog needs to go to the loo several times a day. The owners live above the apartment and this we found to be a bit of an issue as the noise was constant, you can hear people walking about and every single creek of the floorboards. Parking is also a bit of a challenge on a very steep driveway but thankfully the owners only had one car on the driveway.
My partner and I, alongside our cocker spaniel were lucky to manage to book long crag annex on a last minute basis. We were over the moon with our stay, the location was perfect, only a 5 minute walk into ambleside. The facilities were great, lovely shower and comfortable bed for days when when had done a lot of walking. A lot of great walks and hikes nearby too! Great base for seeing the Lake District!

As i was on my own it was a perfect base to visit the places i wanted to ... As i was on my own it was a perfect base to visit the places i wanted to see with the use of my bus pass on the excellent public transport system, plus i could walk into town to enjoy all amenities, i enjoyed every minute

We enjoyed a really comfortable and relaxing stay at Long Crag. A perfect distance from the town, not too far and not too close.
Accommodation was clean and comfortable, one problem was the lack of heating at certain times as it was quite a cool spell in early May.

We really enjoyed our stay in Ambleside and were really pleased with our accommodation. Just two things to mention. 1 We found the instructions about parking slightly confusing. Firstly we were told to park to the left of the property which led us to park in what we later discovered was the turning place then we were told to park as close to the front door as possible. The later is what we subsequently did. 2 I had a problem with the toilet and shower space. because I am 6'1'', when using the toilet I kept hitting my head against the perspex shower screen when using the shower if I had my back to the tap, if I inadvertently backed into it, it turned off. I wonder whether a different type of tap might be considered.
We Stayed at Long Crag Annex for a long weekend. Its in a great location and very easy to walk into Ambleside centre. The apartment is well maintained and very comfortable. We will definitely go back.
Flat was perfect for our needs. Cosy and ideally located! Would definitely come back. Owners were present but not intruding and the flat was very nicely decorated.
Although advertised as dog friendly, there was nowhere to let dog out safely, there was direct unfenced access to very busy road. Otherwise ,perfect
Had a very enjoyable stay, nice clean property, only problem was that u couldnt operate the heating as was on a timer.
Lovely location, clean and tidy, warm and cozy. Though the neighbours upstairs were rather noisy. We enjoyed our selves.

The property though advertised as an apartment isnt a purpose built apartment. It was originally a house that has been converted to 2 apartment. The top floor is all wooden floor board. We had a terrible time while there. From 6am until 11pm the tenant upstairs were stomping around, dragging and throw objects around. We downstairs paid the brunt of that house. At some point we thought the ceiling was going to crave in with all that throwing and dragging. Their washing machine at 2200 shook the entire ceiling in the bathroom. When their dog ran around the apartment we could not only hear the stomping but also the pores scrapping the floor boards. We came from London for peace and quiet but we got more stress. The location of this place is good, inside is clean and with good facilities, only issue is the tenant upstairs. Despite several complaints they took no heed. DONT use this apartment if you want some respite and peace.
Nice central location for exploring the Lake District. Parking the car and getting off the drive again is a nightmare, puts you off going again. Was very noisy in the accompanying flat, we were glad that the lady moved out on the Wednesday but loads of noise till late at night from the removal men also, spoilt the evening, although a lady from Skyes had called to warn us beforehand. Nice bedroom, but no plug sockets any where near the mirror so I had to buy an extension lead so my wife could plug her hairdryer in. Bed not very comfortable, its like sleeping on a slope. Also to appeal to families there could be a sofa bed in the lounge. Kitchen facilities good, strange choice of crockery and cutlery though. Washing machine you need a degree in nuclear science to be able to use it, we eventually sussed out the microwave and cooker bit our washing got stuck in the machine for three days before we could figure out how to open the door! Would be brilliant for an elderly couple as bus stops are very close by, and they could use the free OAP bus passes to explore the Lakes. Car parking charges around the Lake District are extortionate and it costs 40p to use the toilets in many towns!
Shower was under powered Heating controls not good, could not turn off radiator in the bedroom

The only negative for me was that there was not an enclosed garden for the dog but I should have checked this before booking. I did find a very nice park within walking distance of the property where I could have the dog off lead.
