Keldas Reviews

We had a fantastic stay at Keldas. The beds are lovely and comfortable. The kitchen had pretty much everything we needed a few basics to start us off would have been helpful as well as some cleaning products so we could keep the place clean as we went along The location is great. The parking is not ideal. We actually got a parking ticket while we were there for parking outside the property . There is parking permit you can use in some public car parks 5 min walk but awkward when unloading and packing the car. We noticed some cars had residents permits which would have been handy. Also the drop off info needs updating. We couldnt find the office as the name had changed and then we were told we should have left the key in the key safe, Overall though we had an amazing holiday. The cottage is a lovely home from home in an amazing location. Thank you for a lovely stay

Beautiful cottage in the centre of Ambleside. It is airy, light and very clean. The furnishings are very modern and of high quality. Everything you could need for a holiday is supplied.

The house was very comfortable for our stay. The house is in a great location, perfect for young kids everything was a very short walk away but the street was also quiet. Parking in the public car park was busy but we managed to find a spot within 5 minutes each time. We were a bit caught out by the lack of hand soap and basic cleaning products like some antibacterial spray. Overall we would happily use this property again for a stay in the Lake District.

We love Keldas! Our third time staying and we really love it. The parking situation doesnt bother us, but it might bother others, so do be aware that you cant park in front or close to the property. Lovely spaces, always super clean, great location, wellequipped kitchen. We love it! Our only complaint about Keldas is the bed in the main bedroom! The mattress has been changed from a couple of years ago and now is SUPER comfy. However the bed itself needs replacing. The faux leather is peeling off in quite an unhygienic way, and there are slats missing from the bottom of the bed so the bed slopes down towards the bottom! Its really quite odd. And dont sit at the bottom of the bed to put your socks on as you nearly fall through the bedframe! It really needs replacing given the quality standard and price point of the property. Apart from that its just a brilliant place and we cant wait to come back again!

We had a pleasant stay in Keldas. Its a bright, modern and comfortable house with a well equipped kitchen and two lovely bathrooms with powerful showers. Its right in the centre of Ambleside, but very quiet so the best of both worlds. There were a few small niggles. The living room could do with a lamp as the dimmers didnt work well. Another reviewer mentioned the bedrooms, again lovely sunny rooms with mostly good quality furniture so the lamp with a broken lampshade in the smaller room and the peeling faux leather on the bed not just the headboard in the main room really stood out. Hand soap in the bathrooms would have also been nice, luckily Tescos is a five minute walk.
Very sparse, but everything you needed in the kitchen apart from the grill front which noone informed us about. Property a bit tired, shower room toilet roll holder and towel rail not fitted properly, wobbly. Double bed needs changing as faux leather falling off everywhere, doesn't look good. Lampshade in twin bedroom broken and all cracked. Price was excellent for the week we stayed and we would go back.
There were a few missing we found, just simple issues. We thought that there would have been salt and pepper and maybe a small amount of cooking oil to get us started. We have been renting a property ourselves for 20 years and always supplied a small welcome pack for our visitors, just a couple of tea bags, couple of coffee bags and milk. Cottage is ideally situated and very clean. Would definitely recommend the cottage to our friends.

We have stopped at Keldas before and love the cottage. It has been kept in very good condition with everything you need for an enjoyable stay in a great location. In fact we wanted to extend our stay but faced with a compulsory insurance and ridiculous administration fee from Lake Lovers we decided against it. That is why we have scored Lakelovers 510. After staying in the lake district with Heart of the Lakes for over 25 years it has put us off staying with LL again.

The property was a nice terraced house. It is on a narrow street where parking is difficult. There was a permit but it wasn't clear to me that this was only for certain car parks and not for parking on the street. I got a ticket for parking outside the house with the permit in the window. Maybe I missed the details about the permit. It was a great location with everything in town a few mins walk. The amenities were good and the house was clean. It might be helpful if there was some sort of guest book for comments about restaurants things to do etc. We had the blandest meal we have ever had and if others had commented we might have been spared the waste of money. The 10am checkout is reasonable and fair. Overall very happy and would recommend it.
Lovely, well equipped cottage in the centre of Ambleside. Location was great for being able to leave the car in one of the various car parks we could use with the permit provided & walk from the property. Though it maybe in the centre of town, the place is tucked away in a very quiet street! Well look to stay here again when we next visit the lakes.

The property was perfect for us. Central location. Easy access to shops and walks. The beds were comfortable and there was a lot of space for a 2 bed house. The fridge could do with some maintenance in the sense that the door shelves no longer exist and could do with being replaced. Maybe the TV could go on a stand too. It couldnt be seen from one of the sofas. Wouldnt normally be an issue but had some very wet days and kids wanted to watch a film so had to place the dining chairs near the TV in order to be able to watch it. Would definitely come back though.
Louise
Lovely cottage in a great location. It was nice to be able to park the car and not need it for the weekend. 1 min walk from restaurants, cafes and shops. Beautiful walks nearby whuch were suitable for the familywaterfall and stepping stones. The cottage had everything you need for a home from home break and even though in the centre it was very quiet day and night.
