Bridge Howe Reviews

Overall, lovely house, super location. Great place to stay when visiting The Lakes. The accommodation and facilities were excellent and made for a comfortable stay, albeit on arrival the house was rather cold. Soon sorted with a heat boost. Also, on arrival, it was slightly disappointing that there was not the minimalist of welcome packs. A simple pint of milk for a cup of tea for instance. There was also a plumbing issue with the upstairs main bedroom toilet on arrival which was sorted by us using the plunger next to it. Has this occurred before, we wondered, hence the plunger, given it was the only toilet where this item was located. With regard to kitchen equipment, a roasting tin would be a good addition. The rest of our stay was superb and we enjoyed every minute of our time at the house. Beautiful surroundings, warm and cosy, especially on our rained in day. One downside on leaving. We had scheduled to depart, as requested, by 10am and were taken aback to have the cleaners arrive at 9.30am. Whilst they sat in their car and waited, it did, we felt, impose a bit of pressure on us to hurry up and leave! Surely they should not arrive until after 10am. Despite our concerns, and we trust you value of feedback, we would not hesitate to book Bridge Howe again in the future. Martin and Julie, Bristol

Large, spacious, bright, warm and comfortable house in an amazing location. Skelwith falls is a couple of mins walk from the door, and Chesters and the Inn are also only a few mins walk away, we didnt use the car all week as there are so many walks from the door. Loved watching the birds and listening to the rushing river. Was clean, plenty of towels, lovely welcome pack and very warm with everything we needed in the kitchen. Two very minor points which would have made it flawless, although the shower was absolutely lovely, we found it to be very slippery and needed a non slip mat. The other point was the drive, its a lovely long sweeping drive but our car grated over a couple of the pot holes which are quite large and need to be filled.but they may have worsened along with the weather as it was awful the week we were there and we were so pleased to have such a fabulous place to relax in, we even stayed in on the worst weather day which we have never done before!

We came to Bridge Howe similar time last year, 6 of us for 5 nights, booked by Paul Wilson. We enjoyed the warmth, comfort, layout and good sized rooms, the beautiful easy walks, scenery, river and pubs, plus the facilities in the house to cook, so much so, we all decided to return this year. As agreed with Sykes, I even retrieved my pan lid and potato peeler after leaving them last year. We let our frying pan stay for good as replaced it. Fab place. May look to return in summer next time. Thank you x
Lovely house in a great location.

The kitchen is lovely and large with a fabulous large fridge freezer. It is in a wonderful location with some great walks on your doorstep. The garden is beautiful and its nice sitting out on the drier days.

Bridge Howe is a quality property. The location private but close to all amenities. The house itself is so comfortable, clean and very well equipped. The bedrooms and showers were excellent. Perfect house to enjoy and relax in. Would certainly recommend this property to friends and family.
As a group of three or sometimes four couples making an annual visit to Langdale for 15 years or more Bridge Howe is far and away the best accommodation and location we have ever had . ... in every way. A beautiful house carefully thought through and modernised with practicality and visitors in mind and wonderful outside spaces too surrounded by a perfect garden. Thank you!!!
Louise
Beautiful home in a peaceful setting. The property is so spacious and comfortable. We really enjoyed exploring the local area including walks from the house. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Amazing property in stunning location. Cant fault it at all and would highly recommend
A wonderful home in a beautiful location. It had everything we needed and more! Thank you for the wine we did not want to leave this peaceful spot.
We've enjoyed a wonderful week at Bridge Howe. Skelwith Force, on the doorstep, was our first treat, and the fields and views beyond are beautiful this house is in a fabulous location! The little welcome packs and the bottle of red were gratefully received. We cooked in most evening and found the kitchen knives on the windowsill to be blunt a deep oven dish would also have been handy to have! Othwerise, we found Bridge Howe to be the perfect base for our holiday.
Firstly, thank you for sharing your beautiful home. This place was everything we needed and more. A serene break from reality with luckily beautiful weather making this even more perfect. The house, furnishing and cleanliness was nother short of 1010! The beds were so comfortable pefect after long days of exploring! We had everything we could have wished for and more. Only thing maybe a boosterstrap addition chair for the dining table or even a highchair. Meal times with a near two year old was particularly eventful to say the least! None the less a perfect home from home, we will definitely be returning.
Lovely place to stay. Would go there again. Well kept, well equipped and in a brilliant location.
