This is a lovely cottage well maintained and nicely furnished to a high standard. Parking is in front of the cottage on the road which does narrow just before the cottage so care needs to be taken. Alternative parking is highlighted in the cottage information book. I do wonder how 4 adults might manage as the cottage is small with only one bathroom and low ceilings if you're tall. There is only one wardrobe in one bedroom, with shelves in the other bedroom, so again 4 adults might be a bit squished.

Lovely cottage in a great location has everything needed to enjoy a stay plus some very stylish decoration. CH worked well and soon warmed the cottage up. Using the wood burner in winter would make it even cosier but not needed on our visit.

Staying at Violet Cottage was a truly wonderful experience. Just a little walk from the centre of Ambleside we felt like we had the peace and quiet of the Lake District on our doorstep! We so loved enjoying our morning coffee on the little bench outside in the early mornings. We would definitely recommend Violet Cottage to friends and family and would love to return.

Really comfortable and cosy cottage with a well equipped kitchen and the log burner is just great. The bed was really comfy and a nice quiet area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Thankyou for a fantastic stay. The cottage has been beautifully refurbished. The strong WiFi and smart tv with netflix kept our kids amused when we were home. The cottage is superbly situated in Ambleside, we didn't need to move our car as a short walk into town, shops and 10 min walk to Waterhead for the ferries on Windermere. The only negative if you have a car bigger than a hatchback parking outside the cottage on the road maybe a problem but parking on adjacent roadstreets nearby is available as instructed in the welcome pack. Thankyou again for a great stay.

Car parking was a bit of an issue. It did say this in the advertising. The road is very narrow and if you park directly outside the house your car runs the risk of being bumped. I thought I could use the Lakes Car park nearby, but was told by a member of staff that it was only for staff and not customers. The house was lovely and felt like home. I especially liked the dcor, the crockery reflected where we were staying, towels and linen was fresh. Would definitely stay here again.
