The property is a good location but a quiet road is not an accurate description. Car alarms, traffic noise, bin collection, brewery deliveries, and engineers working through the night on a pole just outside the bedroom all disturbed us. On the first day of stay I sent a text message to the owner as in the instruction manual to ask for a non slip bath mat she never got back to me. Either the instructions need updating, or the system failed. The small courtyard was covered in moss and debris, not clean enough to sit out. The fire was still full of old ash and there were spills on the kitchen cupboard fronts and near the bin. Some small maintenance issues toilet roll holder loose, shower screen not closing fully, kitchen tap very loose, kitchen chair leg loose could be dangerous, lounge blind cable too short the property could also do with microwave instructions, oven use instructions, and central heating hot water instructions, as we struggled to understand how best to use manage for our needs. Although sleeps 5, once the kitchen table was pulled out to seat 5 people, it obstructs the whole kitchen it is not a large enough area for 5 adults, but would better suit 2 adults and 3 small children. The beds were all comfy and clean for which we are very grateful.
Ideally situated. Loft bedroom is great. Will use again.

We had a lovely stay at the house, it was really central for shops, restaurants and plenty of walks. The house was clean, warm and comfortable. We had to call the owner for some information and she was very helpful. I would stay here again.
Hi, we liked the house and facilities. We were also very fortunate with the weather and that the exemplary 'Golden Rule' pub was just across the road! However, there was a crack in the toilet seat of the top bathroom, and no bin. The seating area through the back door was not unpleasant. The listing was misleading about it. It would have been useful to have had instruction manuals about the washing up machine and cooker. We found it impossible to get BBC on the TV. The house would not be suitable for 5 adults.

We had a wonderful stay at Loughrigg View! It really felt like home to home. The cottage is a beautiful three story property, spacious, cosy and clean. It has all the amenities e.g. Washing machine, dryer etc which made our break easier to enjoy. The bathroom and ensuite are comfortable with powerful showers. The living room has a log burner too, which would be very useful in the winter. The kitchendiner is quite tight for five adults but we managed by breaking up our dinner times. The cottage is in central Ambleside, so we could access shops and visit other areas easily. There is a local Tesco and Coop for goods and groceries too. For those who booked after March, it's worth noting a paring permit is no longer provided. There are a couple of things that aren't available too bathroom bins, spare kitchen towels and toilet rolls. These would be helpful to have! Overall, we enjoyed our time here and would book again.

Very good value for money property spacious, quiet, in the centre of Ambleside, with a fully equipped kitchen and also a very appreciated welcome pack with lots of tea, coffee, biscuits, milk etc The main bedroom is on the second floor big and with a wonderful late evening light coming in. The internet was stable and allowed working from the property which was a huge advantage. One nice touch was that the cleaner texted us as soon as the property was available was very handy considering we were already in the area and we were really hoping for an early checkin. A couple of areas where we felt the property could be imporved the sofas could use a deep clean and the outside sitting area could be better enclosed isolated from the rest otherwise it's not really nice to use it. Unfortunately no parking permit was provided but with a bit of patience you can find a free space closeby. We would book this property again. Though not related to the property, we gave a lower rate to the agency as we have requested to extend whilst still in the property and though we chased few times we never heard back.

Property wasn't ready when we arrived to collect the parking permit which turns out was no longer available and we needed to pay 41 to park. She took 45 minutes to clean a 3 storey, 3 bedroom 2 bathroom cottage and make up 4 beds, needless to say the place was filthy, covered in cobwebs, stains on the sofas and cushions, crumbs all over the kitchen floor and dirt inside the kitchen cupboards. We complained to the owner via Sykes about the late checkin 45 mins and standard of cleanliness, providing photographs.
Great location, facilities provided in the house were very good. Comfortable beds. Unhappy that the parking permit was cancelled a week before the stay, that was an unwelcome extra 45. The bathrooms were clean, but hairs on the dressing tables in the bedrooms and the lounge seats and cushions were grubby, the whole house was dusty. Glasses and utensils in the kitchen needed washing before use. Considering we had to be out by 9am and weren't checking in before 4, it seemed as though there was only a very cursory clean performed in these seven hours.
Comfortable, warm, well equipped and convenient location.

The cottage was perfect for us. It was well situated, well stocked and thanks to Sharon, lovely and clean. We unloaded the car at the cottage door then parked in the car park using the free pass, it was literally a 2 minute walk from the cottage which wasn't a problem. We never used the car again as we took advantage of the cheap bus fares to get around 2 per person per trip, which was amazing value. As regular visitors to the Lake District we wouldn't hesitate to book again.
Third time staying and as lovely as always. Definitely coming back
This was our 2nd stay here and I'm sure we'll be back. Excellent location and everything about Loughrigg View is ideal. I can't fault it, including the fantastic support. We had an issue with the bathroom and it was all sorted without any fuss the same day. Highly recommend.
Lovely cosy cottage with everything we needed. Very clean. Really liked the milk, teacoffee and log essentials and sweets for the children.

Really enjoyed our stay at this cottage. It was in the centre of Ambleside off a quiet street. It had everything we needed and was comfy and the interior was nice. Only downside was no garden just a small area outside the back door. Which isnt private.
We had a marvelous time that was beyond our expectations. We were estatic about the location. Close enough to walk everywhere without needing to drive unless leaving Ambleside. We were also just enough out of the way to have quiet when desired.
Steven
Third stay in lovely cottage in the heart of Ambleside. Great location and very homely feel. Housekeeper Sharon could not have been more helpful and made the stay much more enjoyable. Problem with plug in bath was fixed quickly and without fuss and everywhere was clean and ready to go. Would definitely book again.
Property was very good for four of us. Well equipped & comfortable. Beds very comfy. Small issue with the strip across the floor between kitchen & living area & easy to catch feet on it & trip. Shower over the bath on 1st floor leaked onto the floor under the shower screen. Large bath towels would have been more desirable but this is a personal opinion. Overall we would recommend the property & its ideal for walking & dining from your front door. We visit Ambleside most years & would certainly use the property again.
Natalie
Lovely, comfortable, clean, well equipped cottage. Well placed in the centre of Ambleside. Car park permit a definite bonus
Angela
Lovely place to stay, really enjoyed it. Some wood for the fire would have been great but it was summer so may be not anticipated that we would have used it. Overall it had everything we needed and location was great.
Its really important to have an outside space to relax and the outside area was in a disgraceful state and unusable. The outside noise being a busy road really disturbed our sleep especially regular early bottle collections very early morning. It was a good location and the upstairs main bedroom was beautiful
The cottage was really lovely, great size for 5 people with the 2 bathrooms. Powerful showers were lovely after a long days walking. Well stocked kitchen made preparing food easy. Easy walking distance to the car park, pubs, restaurants and shops. Will definitely book again.
Francesca
Beautiful property. Perfect location. Excellent amenities. Loved the welcome pack and the chocs on the bed. Absolutely wonderful weekend break away.
It was a lovely clean and well equipped cottage in an excellent location. There were plenty of cleaning products around and measures were in place due to covid19. Milk in the fridge and chocolates on arrival were a lovely touch and the parking pass was very welcome. My only disappointment was that the details said it was suitable for 5 people. The upstairs bedroom areas and bathrooms would certainly accommodate that many people comfortably however the downstairs kitchen lounge area would not. We could sit 3 adults around the kitchen table at a squeeze but would have struggled to fit anymore.
Adrian
Lovely newly refurbished cottage in an excellent location. Well equipped and lovely comfortable beds, pillows and sheets. Highly recommended. Spotless upon arrival.
Danielle
House in a great location. Clean and comfortable with all the necessities. Car parking permit in the property on arrival which was a great help. The outside area needs some tidying up as you couldnt really use it.
Elaine
This is a very good cottage in a prime location. It would be helpful if the parking permit was available to collect in Ambleside. Some minor improvements could be made. The decor is tired downstairs and stairway. The fireside rug requires replacing and the house would benefit from more thorough cleaning. Overall, I would recommend this property.
The property could do with some maintenance, ie broken flush knobs on both toilets, shelving not straight in cooker due to loose racking at one side. Would be better with electric showers as no consistent temperature. Could do with information file on heating, water, appliances etc as is normally found in a holiday property. Otherwise this is a good property in a great location for walks, pubs, shops etc.
This was a lovely cottage in an excellent location however feel some points need raising. Poor communication with housekeeper who couldn't answer our queries. These had been raised by previous guests in May but remained unanswered. No instructions for heating or cooker. Although generally clean a lot of cobwebs in light fittings. Both toilet flush buttons broken as well. It looks like neighbours are also using recycling bin which meant we couldn't leave rubbish.
Lovely cottage right in the centre of Ambleside, handy for the numerous shops and restaurants and also a great base to walk from. No parking at the cottage but a permit is available from Sykes to park at the main car park a couple of minutes walk away, we stopped in front of the cottage to drop off bags so it wasnt a problem. As we were 3 friends travelling from different parts of the country we arrived in 3 cars but it was easy for 2 of us to purchase additional permits at 30 for 7 days directly from the machine at the car park, these can also be used in various other car parks in the area. On the top floor of the cottage is a beautiful double room with ensuite shower room and lovely views, the second floor has a nice twin and smaller single room with a house bathroom. Ideal for a family or friends. Thank you to Sykes as booking was very easy and all instructions and details very clear.
Danielle
It was absolutely awesome! The house is definitely a home from home. The decor tasteful and the sofa's are soooo comfy! The white goods all easy to use and the location right on the doorstep to Ambleside. The welcome package was thoughtful and we never had a ' it's missing this or that' moment. The kids loved their rooms, our suite at the top of the house was private and so comfortable with an added bonus of the ensuite. We would love to go back..
We loved the layout of the house, on three floors and felt the house was well equipped. However, we felt that some areas of the house required cleaning, e.g. other peoples property left behind had not been lifted, blinds were dirty also could not open first floor blinds due to broken chords so had to stick hands through blinds to open windows, toilet flushes broken although still were able to flush, second floor bed sheets were on inside out and were ripped. Having said this we did enjoy our stay in the Lake District.
Very comfortable. Our weather was not the best for hiking heavy rain most days but it was such a lovely warm cottage to go back to after being soaked to the skin our clothes dried out in no time. The location was so handy for the shops and the lovely pub just over the road, not to mention all the walks from the door. We had a great time. Thank you.
Lovely family cottage. Close to centre, without being noisy. Very clean and well equipped.
The TV wasn't working
Overall fine, top bedroom very comfortable. Thanks for the welcome pack. Also the call from the housekeeper on the day was very kind and welcoming, she was very helpful. However, although the description was accurate the place is quite small for 5 people, especially trying to get round the table to eat together. The kitchen could do with some oven ware we had to buy a big lidded dish to do a pot roast. The pans that were provided were good. Using the TV through the Sky box is not straightforward if the previous people have altered settings or played through other devices. A laminated idiots' guide would be good. Woodburner didn't work very well. Might be worth advising people to lock the door at night, one of our party forgot and although firmly closed, strong winds blew the door open in the night. Bit of a surprise in the morning! We are not complaining, this is just for feedback. BW Steve
The property was centrally located in Ambleside so even when it rained the cinemas were available. Lots of walks available straight from the property.
Cottage so cosy & warm perfect location. Nice touch to have a Welcome tray a new improvement & very well stocked with kitchen equipment. Bathrooms spotless.
Michelle
This property was beautiful, very clean & comfortable. The attic room is fantastic. Within spitting distance of a great pub, The Golden Rule.
Booked by parent, stayed in by author. It was a nice place to stay, in a lovely location. We did have an incident with the key going missing, and unfortunately the only spare was with the property owner 2 hours away. However, Sykes were quite pleasant and helpful, and we were able to resolve the problem. Whilst looking for the key, we were surprised to find the property wasn't overly clean we found quite a lot of crumbs, dust bunnies, and grease. Other than that, it was a nice stay.
Lovely holiday. Nice cosy cottage in a great location. Notes for improvement The cottage could do with a wider range of cooking utensils e.g. more cutlery, cooking spoons etc. The duvet in the double bed had an orange stain underside on arrival. The 200 deposit for the parking permit meant we felt it was easier to buy a 30 car parking pass directly for the week instead.
