Hannah
Just a wonderful house thank you. Beautiful views and very comfortable.
Stephen
I think the property was much nicer than expected. We all felt there was more than enough space and did not get in each other's way. The location was stunning, so close to many walks, and sights. I would recommend this property as a luxury property.
Beautiful house in an excellent location. A very well equipped kitchen. The only omission was no barbecue in the garden but this may be because the weather is not often suitable for barbecues! We were very lucky and had a week of hot sunshine.
Pierre
Our stay was absolutely wonderful. This lovely house, impeccably maintained, is in the heart of the Lake District, very close to Wordsworths Rydal Mount, with memories of Woodrow Wilson who stayed there in 1906. The view from the drawing rooms is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. The house is full of books, maps, dvds. Everything is fine, from the state of the art kitchen to the bathrooms. We cant thank you enough for your taste, your trust and your efficiency.

Our stay at Loughrigg Cottage was absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed all the comforts and facilities offered by this very attractive, remarkably wellmaintained house. Its location, in the heart of the Lake District, is wonderful, and the views from the two sitting rooms are breathtaking. The cottage is close to Wordsworth's Rydal Mount and we discovered the compelling Dorothy Wordsworths diaries. There are many books available to residents, and guidebooks and maps helped us on our daily excursions. Even the weather was kind in ten days we only had two wet mornings. In short, we loved it and we hope to be back!
Excellent large house well equipped and conveniently located
The house was stunning and beautifully furnished. Unfortunately the heating had clearly not been used recently and the house was freezing. The central heating system wasn't working and by the time the engineer arrived I had ascertained that the water pressure was non existent! The single outside bin hadn't been emptied and had obviously attracted animals! Litter was strewn around which we had to tidy! We left our bagged rubbish in the cellar. Even with the heating restored the downstairs areas were cold. Upstairs was fine and the under floor heating fine! There is clearly a need for supplementary heating with only one convector heater available, Having said that everything else regarding the house location etc was perfect. Unfortunately storm darragh ruined our plans! All pre visit queries were dealt with promptly.
Very pleased with the accommodation in all respects. Our only issue was the central heating. There was a problem over the weekend which couldnt be properly attended to until the Monday. But the ch still was not very effective on the ground floor. Also, the street had a power cut for about 1 hour. There are no emergency lights or candles in the house. Otherwise, great stay thanks. And response time to these issues was fast and efficient.
Second visit great property and very clean. Kitchen was very well equipped with good quality appliances and new plates and cutlery. Lovely bedrooms and bathrooms with good water pressure when needed. A few drawbacks were that not all the radiators were working although weather was quite mild so not too much of an issue. Some loud construction and drilling noise due to workmen on a neighbouring property which detracted from the peaceful setting during the day unfortunately.
You have already had our formal complaint 1. Dirty house on arrival 2. Mould spores on the inside of both front bedroom curtains my daughters chest condition has exacerbated by this 3. Heating didnt work for x 6 nights and we were cold and lol the engineers sorted it and on the 7 th night we woke on numerous occasions drenched in sweat 4. Compensation please 5. Cancel and send our monies back for next years booking please asap
Beautiful, well kept house in a lovely position. Caters for large groups with plenty of space and kitchen equipment. We all loved our stay!
Stuart
Lovely property well equipped and homely
Excellent property! Everything you needed was provided even the deck chairs. Great location we will definitely look to come back again. Thank you.
The property is of a very high standard in a great location and with outstanding views. If I have one criticism it would be the lack of soap or soap dispenser in any of the bathrooms. This I would expect in a property of 5 star rating, which otherwise I am happy to give. Having said that we thoroughly enjoyed our short break here.
Charlotte
Lovely space this was our second year, and we will book again soon for next year. We call ourselves the Loughrigg Lassies now! 2 lounges meant we could use one for Yoga and the building itself is beautiful in a gorgeous location.
Excellent property very clean and lovely bedrooms. Kitchen was well equipped, and bathrooms have everything you need. Only drawback was the dining room radiator was'nt working. Other than that a great well located property.
This is a first class property in a wonderful location. It is full of character & has many attributes thanks to the owners extensive information manuals for both the amenities which are second to none & surrounding walks. If you stop here for a week you wont be disappointed & wont want to leave.
This is a property we love, and have visited in the past. It was so good to ret
Loughrigg Cottage is a beautiful house in a wonderful setting. The view of the river & the hills behind from the 2 lounges is superb. We had booked for a group of 5 couples but sadly only 3 couples were able to go so we had a choice of the 3 best bedrooms, 2 of which had ensuite bathrooms. The dining room looked very traditional so we were not sure that the brightly coloured chairs fitted very well & were not very comfortable to sit on. Overall it is a beautifully furnished, comfortable warm house & felt like a home & not just somewhere to rent.
Comfortable, great location, well equipped. Crockery and glassware hadn't been well cleaned. Heating was temperamental, so could be cold downstairs. Wifi very slow should really have satellite Wifi for such an expensive property, rather than relying on BT.... Overall a good stay, the second time we have been here.
Debbie
What an amazing house. Ive stayed in a lot of holiday rentals and this was one of the best. It was so well equipped, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. We were a group of 8 friends and it was the perfect size and really comfortable. We were blessed with beautiful weather and we loved sitting out at the table in the garden or on the deckchairs with our coffee in the morning. The views were amazing. We loved the fact we were only 8 mins walk to the local pub we had a great dinner there And a gorgeous 20 minute walk along to mainly traffic free lane to Ambleside. Thank you! Weve booked for next year already!
Beautiful property in a stunning location and one of the best equipped cottages we have rented. The kitchendining facilities were excellent. The Bedrooms were lovely and so much storage space. The views from the windows, absolutely fantastic. We did have a problem with the big cast iron radiator in the dining room which just didn't get even lukewarm. A quick and pleasant phone call soon had a maintenance chap out who couldn't remedy the issue but did leave us some electric heaters which did the job. This is a large property and the heating needs to be on all day to keep it warm during the colder months. A starter pack of logs would have been helpful on arrival as the place was cold we left an almost full basket for next occupants
Giulia
The property is as beautiful as shown in the photos. It is incredibly well looked after, very clean and very spacious. Location is also spot on. We really hope to be back soon!
Stewart
Check in time of 16. 00 was a little late and check out time of 10.00 was definitely too early other than that the stay was really good Some logswood for the fire would have been good as we had to travel 20 mins to find some
Sophie
Fantastic house with great spaces to socialise as a group. Absolutely stunning area
Would b good if there were just a few logs for the fire on arrival . Our 6th stay in this wonderful house . Ab love it .
Andrew
Great house in a great location kids loved it Equipped with all mod cons
The house was booked as a base for our daughter's wedding in Cockermouth. It was perfect, with everything we could have wished for with the added bonus of a fabulous garden coupled with amazing views from the front of the house. First class property, would love to return in the future. Thank you.
