Little Stone Howe Reviews

Great location for cycling and walking with easy access to The Lakes. Close to the town centre but nice and quiet. Warm, cozy and perfect to come back to after a day out. Had everything I needed for a weeks stay have already recommended to friends and family
Alison
Great location well equipped accommodation. Nice to walk straight from house.
George
Lovely and convenient location, beautifully quiet a well equipped. Good quality and comfortable furniture. Had an initial hiccup with electricity supply and also a bit of difficulty getting the flow of hot water, which tended to be erratic. Some small repairs needed bathroom mirror light, cooker hood but property was generously supplied with equipment and there were sockets galore. Very compact and perfect for 2 people. Thank you.
We found the sound of the boiler switching on at night a bit annoying when trying to sleep. Maybe some sort of sound proofing on the door would help and we also found that the duvet has lots of stains on it. Maybe it has been washed and they won't come of but it is unsightly. Having said that it was quite cosy. There was some ice cream in the freezer was this intended as a welcome pack or was it left over from previous occupants?
The cottage was nice and comfortable, the shower could do with some attention and a smaller handrail. It is quite a steep climb from town centre back to cottage.

We have booked this cottage for the last 2 years, its like home from home, everything you need is there, its a lovely little cottage, its within walking distance of bars, shops, restaurants and some lovely walks, whoever stays in this cottage will have a lovely holiday
Our second stay here. Just as happy this time as last. Comfortable, nicely equipped and convenient for nipping into town.
Caroline
Brilliant location and great little cottage. Had all the kitchen supplies we needed and was a fantastic base from which to explore the area. Lovely little outdoor space to relax in the evenings with a cup of tea. Beautiful views. Thank you so much for a lovely place to stay for a week
Well equipped cottage comfortable but bath room shower needs attention ie new rail and shower head as water goes every were other than that all ok.
Loved cottage&private bit to sit out. My mistake when I booked didn't realise cottage not on its own.bit noisy from rooms above.Bathroom not good shower a no no.Washing machine great but would benefit a clothes airer.little clothes line above outside window a bit high.need to purchase pegs.If used to bath sheets bring your own towels provided not very big.Loved how could walk into Ambelside so many side streets.
This little cottage was perfect for 2 people, everything you needed was ... This little cottage was perfect for 2 people, everything you needed was provided, located 5min walk into center of Ambleside, cottage was spotless, bed was very comfortable, we will definitely be booking this cottage again
Richard
Lovely little cottage, only thing that let it down is the shower which is broken. Unable to fix it in position so as soon as you turn it on the shower head moves soaking the whole bathroom. Seen in the visitors book that it had been reported before but still hasnt been fixed.
Edward
We enjoyed our stay again. We did appreciate the fan. One small thing, I would have liked an extra pillow.
Richard
The kitchen tap needs a new washer. You have to drag it round by main force to get it to turn off fully. On day 3 the light bulb went on the sitting room wall and I couldn't identify one to replace it. The door code is OK,given the isolated location but it would have taken me only a few moments to try all the combinations and get in. More digits on a future lock? Bath's a bit snug but I'm delighted with what has been packed in, so no worries. Overall a great little place for us two with walks straight up the road onto the fell and a 5 minute walk into the heart of Ambleside. Ideal.
Comfortable, cosy cottage. Well equipped. The only problem was the shower where the water sprayed everywhere except over me!! We noticed in the visitors booked that several people have already made comments about the shower dating back to 2016! Otherwise an enjoyable stay.
Terence
A very enjoyable stay in a well equipped warm and cosy property. Thank You.
A lovely space to stay in. Really close to Ambleside and everything we needed. Would highly recommend. Thank you also for sorting an issue we had so quickly.
Trevor
The property was lovely and clean with everything you could need. It is in a great location. I would definitely recommend
Edward
This was another enjoyable stay. Have booked again for next year
Accommodation very good and well positioned for exploring, the only drawback was the steep hill if you wanted to go anywhere by foot. Not particularly convenient for people with mobility problems.
Judith
We had to remove a cushion on settee to retreave a pen and we couldn't believe that the cushions had not been removed for a long time and needed cleaning badly. When we removed the bedding a the end of our stay the mattress protector was stained in places and also the duvet need washing.
Edward
Had another very pleasant stay.
The apartment was lovely, the living area was bright and airy, and comfortable, and the bedroom was comfortable with plenty of storage. The bathroom was fine although the accessible railings in the shower do get in the way slightly but understandable that they're there. The apartment is very close to town, although be warned that it is up a steep hill which might be an issue for people with mobility issues. The kitchen had everything we needed. But bear in mind, that things like tea bags, coffee, shampoo etc. are not provided. And we only received 1 and a bit toilet rolls for the two of us to use for a week! I'd definitely recommend the apartment and would stay again.
Very comfortable cottage, clean and well equipped, Ideal situation for walking the area and town I had a great time didnt use the car at all.
As noted in the Visitors book there are repeat clients
Edward
Overall we were quite pleased with this property.
Michael
Great location , quiet but handy for town centre, pubs, restaurants etc. Off street parking was a real boon.
Fantastic stay in lovely cottage. Everything we needed and close to town. Hot water tap in kitchen probably needs some attention dripping but we intend to book the same property in the near future. Would recommend it without hesitation.
Apart from issues with the shower, the cottage is lovely. ..comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed our stay apart from wet weather, the location is great or walking into town or out onto the fells. Would stay there again.
Shower needs an upgrade, disabled grab handle makes the shower small, just about OK if medium size, anyone lather would struggle. Lack of kitchen utensils, eg. Potato masher, grill rack. Lounge couch and chair OK but not the most comfortable.
Rebecca
The cottage was well located and well equipped. We think the bathroom could do with some updating but that is it. Everything else was fantastic.
Loved this cottage. Great location, clean & comfortable, well equipped kitchen & the outdoor space was fabulous! The only niggly downside was we found the shower a bit challenging, a fairly minor negative on an otherwise super venue. Would stay here again.
Lovely cottage tucked away from bustling Ambleside. Everything you need and perfect for two people.
