Overall we all had a wonderful stay in Hazel Cottage but there where some issues around the heating downstairs, the room wasn't particularly warm but the upstairs was so the heating was an issue, also the showers didn't work at the same time when one was having a shower in the middle ensuite the top shower did not work, this shouldn't be the case as the property was for 6 people. We are only bringing this to your attention for others who rent the property.

Spent 3 nights at this lovely house to celebrate my 70th birthday with 3 of my close girl friends. The house was lovely and perfect for us, getting out walking from the door and eating out at night. Three bedrooms worked perfectly, as I requested upon booking that one room was made up to be twin beds. All rooms have twins but are usually left as doubles. I feared my request would not be followed through, so I repeatedly contacted Sykes to make sure this would be done. We arrived to find that yes, there were 3 double beds. It was late in the day. We were tired after stopping off en route for a lovely walk near Ullswater and couldn't get through to anyone, so we scrabbled around in the cupboards to find extra bedding. Not a great start to our trip.

A lovely well equipped and comfortable cottage, a stone's throw from great ... A lovely well equipped and comfortable cottage, a stone's throw from great restaurants and would thoroughly recommend to stay
Lovely, comfortable and very well kitted out property, ideally located in the centre of Ambleside. Had a great week there, would definitely recommend.
Louise
We have stayed here before and were pleased we were able to get another week in Hazel Cottage. Its a lovely house with a lot of space. The beds are very comfortable and we like the ability to have them all as twins or super kings. Its perfectly located in the village. I would highly recommend this house to anyone.

Really comfortable and well located cottage. Beautiful house and neighbourhood. We really enjoyed our stay here. Thank you for having us!
This was our fourth visit to Hazel Cottage, we were disappointed this time it felt that the standards had slipped. There was no welcome pack. The toilets had not been cleaned and the hand wash in the bathroom was nearly empty and ran out. The dishwasher was broken, this was reported but not fixed and communication from Sykes was non existent.
What a fabulous holiday home right in the centre of the beautiful town of Ambleside. So clean and nicely appointed with absolutely everything we needed, including a cafetiere, hairdryer, corkscrew and other little things that are sometimes forgotten. We were a party of 6 adults so we liked that the double beds could be made up as twins. When this hadn't been done for us, as requested, on our arrival, it was quickly corrected once we alerted the company. Likewise when one of the en suite toilets stopped flushing, it was dealt with immediately and they also replaced the kettle that stopped working while they were there. Great service! Lots of good shops, cafes and restaurants in Ambleside if it's a rainy day and you choose not to do one of the many lovely walks in the area. Liked how the owners had provided walkingbooks etc. I've stayed in many holiday homes in the Lakes over the years and this is certainly one of the best. We will definitely return. Only downside is parking and if it was a busy time of the year it might be more challenging but we eventually got parked in the Rydal Road car park after a few circuits waiting in someone to leave.
The only thing I would note about the property is I'm pretty sure the oven only works on the grill setting. On the fan oven setting, it doesn't get hot at all. Otherwise, great property we've already booked again.

Beautiful cottage with absolutely everything you need. Fully equipped kitchen, 3 lovely bedrooms, 2 with ensuites and a main bathroom so it was perfect for 3 couples. Everything finished to a high standard and very clean. We had a problem with one of the toilets but maintenance came out very quickly and sorted. Excellent location with pubs, restaurants, shops and even 3 cinemas on the door step. Parking wasnt really an issue. We parked outside to unload then used the parking permit for one of the car parks a short drivewalk away. The cost for the other car wasnt excessive for our 4 day stay. Would definitely recommend staying at Hazel Cottage and using Lakelovers in the future.
Nice property well maintained. We would have expected some soap for each sink and a few more toilet rolls. But one of the better ones we have stayed at in the lakes and would recommend. Good location. Parking is always tricky in Ambleside but the parking voucher was a real help. Overall a really good stay in a lovely house.

A great cottage set in an ideal location. Very comfortable for 3 couples with 2 ensuites and a main bathroom. Kitchen well supplied and clean. Only criticism would be attention to cobwebs dotted around the house. They look old as well!

We all loved HAZEL COTTAGE which was perfectly located close to local shops, amenities, restaurants and sites. We were lucky with the weather which was sunny throughout our stay. We were welcomed with wine, Prosecco, chocolates and a Happy Anniversary Card which was so thoughtful and appreciated. We did have a few issues however including a front door that wouldnt close unless you forcibly slammed it and only being issued with one front door key between 3 adult couples which was restrictive as we often wanted to go on different trips and excursions. We also had a problem with the Macerator in the ensuite toilet which wouldnt stop taking in water and became noisy and very intrusive. We were eventually able to contact Sykes who sent Maintenance staff to fix it. Every thing worked as it should and the house was well equipped the kitchen was laden with utensils, the TV worked well and the WiFi worked throughout the 3 storeys of the house. The decor and furniture were of great quality but there were small decor issues cracked plaster, door knobs throughout instead of handles for older people who may have gripping issues but we all had a great time and enjoyed our stay at HAZEL COTTAGE immensely.
We had a great time in your very comfortable cottage. Thank you. Extremely clean and well appointed. The kitchen had everything we needed. The crockery was of a high quality, the only problem was that the large plates did not fit in the dishwasher! The cottage was close to all the shops, restaurants and amenities. I think we sampled every coffee shop whilst we were there. Would definitely like to revisit. Ambleside is a lovely little town with easy access to the countryside around.

Lovely cottage in a very convenient location. Highly recommended. Thank you.
Really lovely house in a fantastic location. Great to have one bathroom per bedroom, and all worked well and very clean. Extremely quiet, which surprised us given its central location. A very comfortable stay, we would certainly go back.
Valerie
The property is in an excellent location for restaurants, shops, buses and nearby car parks. The cottage itself is beautifully furnished throughout and everything fully functional and most importantly, spanking clean. In addition to the thoughtful Welcome Packs in the kitchen there was also a bottle of wine and chocolates, a lovely gesture. We would not hesitate to recommend this lovely holiday home.
Really Fantastic stay! Spotlessly clean and extremely cosy with thoroughly modern furnishings. We were lucky enough to meet owners Nicky and Steve on departure and they were lovely and we were delighted to thank them for the biscuits, chocolates and wine left for our arrival. Great location in the middle of the town. 24 car parking permit extremely handy as the kings street car park is a short walk maybe three minutes?. Really good information guides available in the cottage which helped with our planning. Overall we were delighted with everything!
Thomas
Wonderful house, superbly equipped.
Patricia
Hazel cottage is a lovely, warm and beautifully refurbished cottage in a great location. Kitchen is very well equipped. Having the parking permits was great and we really appreciated the wine and chocolates, welcome nibbles and cleaning product. Sadly the top floor esuite shower leaked into the room below so we had to stop using it which was inconvenient as we specifically chose a cottage with three bathrooms. We were only disturbed by the builders next door on Thursday. They were very, very loud! Fortunately we had planned to go walking. However, I think a warning should go on the description until building works finish so people who want peace and quiet do not make a mistake. I would definitely book Hazel cottage again. We really loved it.
Perfect cottage ,

Fabulous location Everything you need and more for a lovely weekend ... Fabulous location Everything you need and more for a lovely weekend Spotlessly clean Beds are so comfortable Great decoration
This was our fourth stay in Hazel Cottage and, as usual, we had a great time. There were a couple of maintenance issues that I would just like to draw to your attention though the rear right gas burner, although we could get it to ignite, would not stay lit. We could not get the radiator in the top floor ensuite to come on at all. Lastly, the carpet on the threshold of the first bedroom not ensuite on the first floor was a bit frayed and could become a trip hazard. None of this affected our stay I just wanted to point it out so that you are aware.
We absolutely loved our stay at Hazel Cottage. Even though on quite a busy road, it was very quiet great secondary glazing at the front . The location was great so many things to do in walking distance and buses to hand. The house has been well thought out and the standard of fittings and furniture fabulous. We had an incredibly comfortable stay and would love to return.
Angela
It was a lovely house. Very clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Plenty room for everyone. Beds were great. House was well situated. We all enjoyed our stay and would certainly go back to such a well thought out property.
Louise
Te cottage was perfect for us. The cottage was well looked after and had everything we needed. The beds were really comfy and it was so useful to be able to have the option of having the rooms as twins for the children. The shower in the main bathroom was amazing too!! We also really appreciated a parking permit and whilst you cant park right outside the car park is only a 2 minute walk up the road. We would definitely stay here again and would happily recommend it to anyone wanting to visit Ambleside.
Fabulous! Can't fault this beautiful house. We loved it. Very central for good meals out. Lovely walks without needing the car too. Just a note regarding the description ... it says washerdryer but it is actually just a washer.
The cottage was in a great location and was well appointed. It has been presented well and is comfortable, with a lot of thought into what holiday makers require. The documentation to explain how to use appliances in the property was very helpful.
The property was of a very high standard and very comfortable. The only drawback was some of the small details that make a start feel truly comfortable, such as soap in the WC, laundry detergent, sugar for tea and saltpepper. Unfortunately all of these were missing so we had to purchase them including hand soap for the bathrooms. There was a box for laundry detergent but it was filled with dishwashing tablets so perhaps the cleanerowner was not aware it was missing. Having these small items available would have made the stay that bit better. However overall it was very high quality and we'd certainly stay again if we went to Ambleside. The location by the town centre was very handy. However the parking situation was also a minor drawback as the parking token was only valid from 6pm10am and for 1 hour between 10am6pm. So we found ourselves constantly moving our car and not always able to park by the flat.
Hazel Cottage was a wonderful place to stay . Everything was of the highest standard and the accommodation was outstanding . Great value for money and leaving the wine and chocolates for our arrival was a lovely touch . Would certainly recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay in Ambleside .
Great cottage in a great location and very comfortable and well appointed
