Loved the property. There were no visitors permit so my husband got a parking ticket as he thought the one he did have was a visitor.
Lovely cottage in the perfect location. Really well presented with a wonderful bathroom perfect for a good soak after a day on the fells.

Excellent property, well presented and a great base for our family of 5 to stay and enjoy the lakes.

Fell cottage was fantastic venue for us as family literally in walking distance so made it easy for us to pop in and out of our mums house. The cottage was brilliant..love the kitchen and the bathroom !! it had everything we needed. Definitely be back .
Fell cottage was ideal clean tidy and had everything you needed. We managed to park on the road outside using visitors pass every day. Ideal location and great property would stay again
Excellent option for us in the Lake District, 4 adults. Good location and appointments. Only negative was slow response to maintenance request.

Fabulous location and gorgeous house. We loved our stay. Kitchen was well equipped and comfy. House is cosy but to be expected given location and style. It was beautifully kitted out though, had everything we needed, was clean and felt very well maintained. The first floor bathroom was beautiful. Second showerWC on ground floor is very compact. Great boot room at the back of the kitchen and we appreciated the washerdryer and dishwasher. Smart TV for streaming was perfect. Could have done with fans in the bedrooms particularly the top two rooms as it was very warm seasonal issue we appreciate!. We loved being right in the middle of everything. We appreciated understanding the limitations with parking before we arrived but, with that in mind, we never had an issue parking in one of the carparks or approved roads around town so the car was never more than 5mins walk away. Never had to wait for a space and even managed to park on the house road for loading at the end of our stay. The only slight niggle was our question to the owners through the Sykes Cottages ask the owners system ahead of our arrival was not answered unsure if this was the owner or the manager but disappointing either way. We were relieved to have no issues as were consequently concerned how to reach out if there had been a problem!
Sper confortable beds.
Just a few little pointers. Twin room blinds don't fit properly so gap between them , bright sunlight waking me up very early. Toilet seat in downstairs toilet very wobbly. Not enough soft pillows, only one for each single bed. Large bath towels only in one double bedroom, much smaller ones in the other 2 rooms Apart from those minor points, beautiful property to great location and incredible weather!
The accommodation was in an ideal location in the centre of Ambleside. It was perfect for our family of 4. We were greeted with a bottle of prosecco and biscuits. It was great to have 2 shower rooms, one of which was very large and luxurious with a freestanding tub and walk in shower, all of which were very clean, as was the entire living area. The beds were comfortable with a plethora of pillows and it was nice to have a desk, a suitcase stand, and a room to store shoes and coats. The kitchen was charming and had everything we needed for cooking and sharing a meal at the table except washing up liquidbut it did have a working dishwasher. The heating worked well to quickly warm every floor and the area was very quiet with some lovely birds tweeting outside our windows. Parking was tricky at first, as the street outside the cottage is tight and there weren't any spots. We parked a few minutes away in the Council Car Park for the first night. But the next morning we found a spot right outside the cottage. Our only request would be more large bath towels. The arrangement of sofas in the living room is also a bit awkward for viewing the TV. But overall, it was a wonderful, relaxing stay and we would highly recommend Fell Cottage.
Fantastic property right in the centre of Ambleside and only a 2 minute walk to the main street. We wouldnt hesitate to come back. The cottage was spotlessly clean ,a huge well done to the people that maintain this high standard. The cottage has everything you could need, all kitchen equipment,a utility room, downstairs shower and toilet, three lovely bedrooms and an amazing bath.We didn't manage to get parking outside the house, but used the car park that was a 5 minute walk away, using the free permit which was a huge bonus.
Rachel
The property was a amazing, everything you needed, lovely and clean and very central our only fault would be, two friends had bath sheets and three had bath towels, I believe that all occupants should be provided with bath sheets, but this is very minor, would defiantly return thank you for an amazing break.
Beautiful cottage, clean and comfortable. Has everything you need and is in the heart of Ambleside. Would definitely recommend and will hopefully stay here again soon. Thank you.
Perfect, lovely home. Definitely recommend 100! Will be staying here again
Angela
A lovely comfortable cottage right in the centre of Ambleside. Well equipped and very clean. Great showers, a lovely bath. Kitchen would be cramped with 6 people in as would the living room but we were only 4 so plenty of space once we moved a chair away from the table.
Fell cottage is beautiful. It has fresh and clean decor and has everything that you need for a comfortable stay. The cottage is located in the heart of Ambleside and is only a short walk from most places. There are so many things to do and see around this area of the Lake District and there are plenty of places to eat and drink. Right on the door step is Wansfell Pike, a great walk advanced with spectacular views across lake Windermere when you reach the top! For a very special dining experience we recommend the old stamp house and their taster menu, great atmosphere with incredible food, so worthy of their Michelin star! We Highly recommend a trip to Ambleside and staying at fell cottage.
Rachel
Great location, the facilities of the house are brilliant. Thanks for another brilliant stay
Wonderful property, comfortable, well equiped, great location near the centre of Ambleside but still very quiet. We would certainly book again!
Alison
We enjoyed our stay, the cottage was in a great location and overall it was clean and tidy. A lovely gesture with the biscuits and Prosecco Downstairs bathroom could have been a bit cleaner Some of the sheets had stains on them The toaster hadnt been cleaned out
It was a lovely well situated cottage. Well equipped kitchen, lovely shower and bath. The one thing that was a bit tricky was the positioning of the TV and sofas. Otherwise, perfect. Thanks!
We had a great short stay. The cottage is in fantastic position really central and close to all amenities. It was very well presented and clean and tidy on arrival. The only slight negative is the parking as we could not park on the street on the first night as it was full so had to pay for parking for one vehicle.
Steven
The property was lovely and in a great location but lacked some care an attention. There were cobwebs on the ceiling and a dirty pan in the drawer on arrival, they was lots of chipped crockery, only one bin liner for a four night stay and no teabags. The second parking permit was appreciated, but clearer information is required. Arriving on a Sunday the office was closed and it was difficult to work out how the business pass could be used from the council website and took a 20 minute phone conversation and a return email to clarify this whilst the car had been parked incorrectly overnight. This could have been easily prevented.
Everything about the cottage was perfect. The only challenge we had was booking through VRBO. When we needed to make a change it was a threestep process VRBO > Sykes > Owner and it took multiple international phone calls to resolve a very simple request.

Had a wonderful Christmas stay at Fell Cottage. A very cosy and warm cottage and probably one of the best weve stayed in over the many years of coming to the Lakes. The utility room was great to dry all the walking kit and leave the boots in. The kitchen was well equipped which enabled us to cook a full Christmas dinner! A beautiful big bathroom and a great bath which was lovely after a long walk. A few cleaning products would have been good just to wipe the surfaces down. Not a big problem as I bought some from Tescos. Would definitely recommend and most definitely will return. Thank you so much
A beautiful characterful cottage in the heart of Ambleside. Easy walking access to the village. Parking was never an issue.
Comfortable and clean cottage. Great location and well equippedexcept it would have been useful to have some tea towels and some basic cleaning materials beyond washing up liquid. Otherwise all good.
We stayed here for the second year running as we so enjoyed it last year. This year we noted how restrictive the lounge was with two large settees that did not give much flexibility to rejig to make more cosy. We also feel the leather settee is needing replacement upgrading as there were a few areas of wear in the leather. The pillows in the main bedroom were very basic and not comfortable.
Lovely, stay in a very appointed and clean cottage, right in the heart of Ambleside and two minutes walk from all the various shops and bakeries for fresh bread in the morning! Parking right outside for one car use the provided permit! and the property also has a permit to park in the local council car parks useful for us as we had two cars in our party.
Kathryn
We had a lovely stay at Fell Cottage. Perfect location with fabulous views from the top front bedroom. The bedroom sizes were plenty big enough. Just a few things that were in need of improvement the downstairs toilet seat was not very steady so at times it felt you were going to fall causing my back to be jarred a few times. The flusher on the toilet was also weak could be on its last legs. When it came to cooking in the kitchen there wasnt any baking trays that were appropriate or clean for that matter the cutlery drawer looked like it had spilt herbs on all the spoons the pans werent clean and some had water in the bottom of them when in the drawer. This was quickly fixed with a wash of these items but you would expect clean cooking facilities and utensils on arrival. Despite these gripes we had a lovely stay.
Jasmine
Gorgeous home would definitely come back the village is also really nice
This was a really lovely cottage, modern and well maintained. The views from the top bedrooms are gorgeous and it's location is fantastic for the town.
Christine
We thoroughly enjoyed our short break in Fell Cottage. The location in the centre of Ambleside is ideal and the parking is very convenient. We would like to return in the future.
