Connie's Cottage Reviews

We found Connies Cottage very convenient for Ambleside centre and surrounding area without having to use the car with the expensive parking charges. The cottage is a beautifully presented accommodation, very comfortable and warm with quality furniture and fittings. We had a great week and were sad to leave as everything was so enjoyable. Parking outside the property was easy and we did use the car to visit the many excellent places around this area of the Lakes. We would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a trouble free, relaxing holiday.
Our second visit to Connie's cottage. As before felt very comfortable place to stay in wonderful location. Very much hope to stay again in future.
Beautiful and spacious cottage in a great location. The bed was really comfortable and the shower was excellent. The garden is gorgeous and has a lovely sitting area with great views of the surrounding hills. The cottage can be a bit chilly as I would expect for a traditional cottage, but there were blankets supplied and the heating was easy to use. We brought an extra blanket with us to keep us cosy while sitting in the living room. There was a good selection of books and games available. The kitchen was well equipped. The only tiny change I would make would be to perhaps have a couple of larger pans there were quite a few pans already but they were all quite small.

Second stay in this beautiful homestead. Very convenient for the whole of the Lakes. Parked up on day one and never used the car again for a week, excellent bus service. Weather was fantastic for the whole time. Can recommend this property, whole heartedly. Hope to be back! Many thanks.

Beautiful cottage, very clean, great location in walking distance of town, countryside and lakes. great view of the mountains. Owners very patient and helpful when we locked ourselves out. Highly recommend would definitely stay again
An elegant and comfortable home in a lovely location. Log burner lovely as Autumn sets in. Thanks to owners and team. Booked again for next year.
Not enough mugs plates glasses. Poor maintenance so front door very difficult to open and close. Shower broke. Heating controlled remotely by owners. Its a very cold house. Plus points easy access parking area, quiet street, easy to walk to centre of Ambleside. Owners immediately contactable and responsive.
We loved the cottage for its lovely decor, spaciousness, comfort and proximity to the town. Everything about the house was so well thought through and you had struck just the right balance between having every modern convenience and keeping the house authentic to its time. We don't have any complaints but we would have liked a visitors' book as these are a great source for finding places to go , things to do and places to eat. You did leave booklets but these aren't as good as people's direct experience. However, we found that the house really enhanced our holiday.

Fabulous holiday property. Extremely comfortable with beautiful views of the fells and garden.. we managed a glimpse of the Northern Lights from the garden. It's ideal cental location was perfect for exploring the Lake District by foot, bus, bike or car. Highly recommend. We will be booking again for next year!
Very comfortable property for four only two of us this time Thank you very much. Small points We couldn't find any IKEA bags for the used linen. The key boxes were all undone when we arrived, not a problem for us of course. If there is an in house vacuum cleaner we would always run it round! Perhaps a decent sized tray for drinks and bread bin would be a plus. All minor things, we did enjoy our stay and would visit again. Thanks!
A beautiful and well equiped property very close to all amenities. Loved our short stay.
Property was lovely and clean and cosy. Location was great close to Ambleside centre. Would highly recommend
Great property, really well located, loved the decor and perfect for our family holiday!

We had a lovely stay at Connies cottage in Ambleside . It was a mini breakaway for myself, my mum and family . On our arrival , we unfortunately went past the house as direction from the previous details not as accurate. It is a one way system from off the main road and we missed the off street parking beside the house . On entering the property , we noticed that it had a lovely little garden at the back but unfortunately we had to access this using the front door , our only exit out of the property . The back door had a key safe but the notice said we would have to make contact with Skyes for the code . As we were only staying a few days we decided not bother.
Excellent location with off road parking within a 5 minute walk of the town centre. However, sometimes its the small things that make the biggest difference. There was no hand soap in any of the three bathrooms, logs werent provided for the wood burnernever stayed anywhere before where this has been the case, hand written notes in a folder seemed a bit amateurish and being told to google it for instructions to start the fire seemed a bit lazy. A smart TV would have been nice for entertainment in the eveningshaving the facility to use our own streaming services and finally a microwave would have been a very useful addition.
