We were really excited about staying in such proximity to the coastal path and this part of the holiday did not disappoint. East Prawle is a very quiet village but has an excellent local pub and also cafe and shop which are handy, and you can walk straight from the village and get onto the coastal path. The cottage, however, was a big disappointment. The cleanliness was a poor standard, the property wasn't tidy and so many items were broken. There were also significant DIY jobs and cosmetic upgrades required- it seemed like it had been done up in a rush by someone who did not enjoy DIY at all! Overall it was not an acceptable standard to be hosting paying guests. This is a shame as it could be an amazing bolthole for staying near Salcombe, it needs an injection of cash and a bit of an overhaul.
