Silverhow Cottage Reviews

We had a lovely stay in the cottage, which is located in a fantastic position, close to all amenities. The cottage was very clean, welcoming with Christmas decorations, and well equipped. Thanks

Amazing location, close to centre of Ambleside. Well appointed with everything you need for a great holiday. Little touches like salt, pepper, sugar and tea bags in the kitchen are ideal. Maybe needs a declutter, quite a lot of personal possessions in the cottage and art work that is not to everybody's taste. Other than that a delightful little cottage.
Lovely property, equipped with everything you could need. Really clear instructions, they thought of everything you may need to know. Great communication from the contact. Excellent location with everything in close proximity. Would recommend a visit
The property was in a brilliant position very close to the town centre, literally a two minute walk. The property was well stocked and had everything you could possibly need. My only critique is there is no washing machine. Given the amount of mud, etc, that your clothes can get covered in with walking. It's not really ideal to have to bag them up and take them home. We were very lucky on this occasion that the weather was kind and it was dry. There is a dryer at least but not much use without a washing machine. That said I would stay there again. Beds very comfy, good wifi and smart TV.. Although a little on the small side at 32
Felt immediately at home in Silverhow Cottage. Everything you need to livecook there is right at hand. Really comfortable place to stay. Lots of great walks straight from the door. Really appreciated having your own parking spot too. Will definitely book again.
Beautiful cottage in a lovely location. Very comfortable, clean and cosy. Had a fantastic week here!

Clean, warm, comfortable, quiet house, great location close to everything. Excellent parking space! As previous reviews well stocked lovely kitchen, comfy bed.
It's a great property with an excellently stocked kitchen. The beds are so comfy and the location is perfect! Only thing would make it perfect is a washing machine!
Frances
We had a lovely break with our adult children a final holiday as a family of 4 revisiting Ambleside and some of their childhood haunts. Silverhow was the perfect base, comfortable, central and space enough for everyone to live together but not on top of one another. The cottage is equipped with pretty much everything we needed for a week self catering and we were seconds away from town for lifes essentials.
A lovely cottage, beds were comfortable and it was nice and clean. Just a couple of points it was freezing on arrival as the heating was switched to off, and all upstairs windows were open and it's February. A note to future visitors there is no washing machine! Don't make the same mistake I did and assume that as it's listed as having a tumble dryer, there will be a washing machine there isn't! This was the only real negative point for me as had I realised, I wouldn't have booked it. Apart from this, the cottage was lovely and ideally located.
Michael
Lovely cottage. We did a short stay for just the two of us in February. The cottage has a fantastic location, just a short walk into town close to all the pubs, shops and restaurants which we love. The parking worked out well and being just off the main road meant an easy journey to the start of all our walks in the Langdales, Hellvelyn range and the Old Man range. The inside is cosy, warm and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. We will definitely book again for a similar weekend.
