For Families
Rydal Suite only accepts children over 12 years old. Infants are not permitted due to the property layout. The ten acres of grounds offer space for older children to explore and spot deer. A tennis court is available on site. The apartment sits within walking distance of Ambleside where older kids can enjoy outdoor shops and cafes.
For Couples
The grand Victorian windows frame spectacular views of Fairfield horseshoe and Lake Windermere from the sitting room. Two king-size bedrooms each have en-suite bathrooms for privacy. The private patio offers alfresco dining space. The peaceful ten-acre grounds with roaming deer create a secluded atmosphere. Ambleside's restaurants sit within walking distance for evenings out together.
Pet Friendly
Rydal Suite does not accept pets. The property has a strict no-pets policy throughout the apartment and grounds. If you need pet-friendly accommodation in the Lake District you will need to look at alternative properties. The mansion grounds and communal areas are also not suitable for visiting pets under any circumstances.

Rydal Suite is in a fabulous location with spectacular views from large windows in the lounge. Heating and fires were lovely and cosy especially at Christmas. The welcome pack was a lovely touch and Christmas tree looked beautiful. Kitchen well equipped, beds comfortable. We will definitely be back.

We loved the setting of Loughrigg Brow so close to Ambleside but very peaceful. We spotted deer in the grounds as well as numerous birds and butterflies in the garden. The apartment itself was better than the pictures super high ceilings, generous living space and the main bedroom was bigger than it appeared. Well maintained and clean with lovely fluffy towels provided. Such a well stocked kitchen which was appreciated a bit challenging for the cleaning team weekly maybe needs a spring clean every 6m or so? We had to call in an error on the washing machine and the maintenance team called round < 24 hrs, thank you. We will definitely be returning though, on both our next two trips up to the Lakes, the Rydal Suite is already booked so I know I need to get in earlier in the future to secure my spot in this super apartment!

Rydal Suite exceeded our expectations and was a splendid place to stay. The apartment was very spacious & grand in its proportions with 2 excellent ensuite bathrooms. The grounds & views were beautiful with glorious views over Windermere. Two minor niggles for a golden oldie like me is that the shower needs a stainless steel grab rail as its very slippery. Also a grab rail is needed to access the excellent patio. Otherwise all perfect.

We had a super holiday, the views from the property are stunning and we enjoyed several walks from the door. The apartment is beautifully fitted out, was spotlessly clean making it a home from home. Just a couple of minor maintenance niggles, the front door handle is about to fall off and the under cupboard lights in the kitchen aren't working. Would we go back?.... yes definitely. An indifferent holiday due to abysmal weather was saved in many respects by having the refuge of a spacious, warm property. Copious amounts of hot water, good view and proximity of the property to Ambleside without actually being in it are all great plusses.

The property was beautiful set in stunning grounds. Very peaceful with deer in the grounds. The rooms were spacious and beautifully appointed. 2 issues. We did not have the code to get into the main building and there was no recycling so took it home.
I had to call out maintenance team and was very impressed with efficiency and ease.
Rydal is a lovely apartment, spacious and very well appointed and comfortable, with great views despite the scaffolding. The grounds immediately outside the front door are lovely and a great space with views across to Windermere. I saw deer in the lower field at dusk and heard an owl too. However, we did have issues with the t.v.s of which there are 4. The smart t.v. In the lounge was a bit hit and miss and we couldnt get further than channel 5 we couldnt get basic channels on the kitchen t.v. couldnt get anything on the small bedroom t.v. just broken picture. While the apartment had just about everything one required a proper toilet roll holder and small pedal bin in the en suite bathrooms would have been appreciated. Because of the weather rained a lot and was cold although both the heating and fires were a bonus we were unable to make use of the patio and garden area but the steps looked very precarious from the patio doors and those down to the lawned area we are seniors so maybe younger people would cope. Never the less we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Rydal and would recommend it.
The Rydal Suite at Loughrigg Brow was wonderful. The lounge a real positive, with lovely decor and views. Thought the new leather suite was great! Everything you needed to self cater well during your stay. If I have only one issue, on removing the bed linen on departure day as requested. I noticed yellow staining to some pillows. For this standard of property I would have expected pillow protectors for hygiene issues. Would certainly like to return to the Rydal Suite in the future. Thank you.

The only additional point I would make is that the wooden venetian blinds do not provide any respite in early morning. Woke very early with light. Might be helpful to have curtains in the bedrooms to keep out at least some of the early morning light.

This property was absolutely stunning. We have traveled regularly for 40 years. By far this is the nicest place we have ever stayed. The apartment was fitted with everything we needed and then some. Views were stunning. Everything about the experience was magical

Lovely property, just as described. We stayed over New Year and we were given a welcome gift of a Christmas card, wine and fizz.... unexpected but greatly appreciated. The property has been decorated for Christmas which added to our stay. Nice touch. Very comfortable. Great situation. Lovely.

What a lovely property it had everything we could have wanted. Our base for a weeks walking .very quiet .perfect views .lots of space .Nice towells.and loved the defusers in all rooms .the bath was very strange big enough for a couple to get in oops. Close enough for a walk into Ambleside for a coffee. But a bit of a climb backif your not fit it will be a bit of a challenge walking up the drivebut don't be put off its in beautifull grounds .we liked watching out the kitchen patio doors at all the runners cyclists and walkers heading out up the lane at the back for the walk to loughrigg fells. A welcome pack would have been expected at such a classy place but not to worry sometimes you get them sometimes you don't. We are looking to return if its available when we want it. We read that the soffas are being replaced .yes thats a good idea. we also saw deer in the grounds one day.

We have been coming to the Lake District for years and this has been our favourite place we have stayed. The apartment is beautiful and so well equipped, there was everything we needed. Loved the little private garden, was very relaxing to sit out on an evening. The walk down into Ambleside is lovely through the park, lots of pubs and restaurants to choose from also. We really loved the Rydal suite. A huge thank you to the owner. It's the best equipped and most comfortable property we have stayed in. The kitchen is particularly well equipped, to a standard we've not experienced before. I can not think of a single improvement I would make. We are hoping to return later this year
En suite shower was a nightmare. Kept having to turn it off because it wasnt draining away. Lovely apartment but the steep drive was too steep for disabled person. The road along the riverside was challenging due to cars parked illegally and some younger drivers were very reluctant to reverse back so that we could get passed.
Have stayed at Rydal Suite for a number of years now and always enjoyed. This year was even better, the recent refurbishment looks superb, new facilities are perfect. Will be returning next year.

Really lovely place in all respects. While we enjoyed the comfort and fun of the quicksand sofas, in honesty they should probably be replaced. Otherwise it was a marvellous place to stay and we will definitely come again!
What a fabulous job you have done with the space and design of the house. Rydal was great nice layout, excellent facilities 2 hairdryers ..better quality would have made it perfect really comfortable and super equipment facilities. Great windows! Rucks of hot water and yes we loved the bath! Nicely furnished very cosy in November. Super location, we loved the walk into Ambleside especially of the evening
